Entry Level Care Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level care manager job?
Employers hiring entry level care managers typically look for a relevant degree in social work, nursing, or a health-related field, along with any hands-on experience from internships, clinical rotations, or volunteer work. Familiarity with care coordination, case documentation, and basic knowledge of community resources gives candidates a clear edge. Highlighting soft skills like communication and empathy matters as much as credentials at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level care managers?
Companies hiring entry level care managers right now include Voyage Health, American Traveler, and US Department of Veterans Affairs, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a broad mix of health systems, managed care organizations, home health agencies, and nonprofit social service providers that actively build entry level pipelines.
Are there remote entry level care manager jobs?
Yes, though most entry level roles still favor on-site or hybrid arrangements. About 7% of entry level care manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, concentrated in telephonic care management and utilization review roles where assessments are conducted by phone or video rather than in person.
Are these new grad care manager jobs?
Yes, this page includes new grad, recent graduate, and junior care manager roles alongside other entry level postings. A new grad friendly listing typically welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or clinical placements in place of paid work history, and does not require an active case load or independent licensure to apply.
Which industries hire the most entry level care managers?
Entry Level care manager roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because high patient and client volume creates steady demand for coordinators who can support caseloads under the supervision of senior clinical staff.
