Job Summary
Lead upbeat line dance fitness classes that help participants build coordination, confidence, and physical fitness. You’ll teach exercise routines through clear demonstrations and guided practice, adapt movements for different abilities, and create an encouraging group experience. Your impact: Safe, engaging instruction helps participants enjoy movement while developing fitness and dance skills.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead group fitness classes featuring line dance routines, warm-ups, and cool-downs.
- Demonstrate steps and body mechanics, explain movement options, and coach participants with clear, motivating cues.
- Apply anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics knowledge to support safe movement; use sound manual-handling practices and manage heavy equipment lifting when needed.
- Communicate with clients, provide welcoming fitness customer service, and support class participation.
- Follow safety procedures and respond appropriately in emergencies, including use of first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and an automated external defibrillator (AED), as trained.
Experience
- Experience teaching, coaching, or leading group fitness classes; fitness industry, gym, or health club experience is helpful.
- Knowledge of program design, physical fitness training, personal training, and motivational fitness coaching is valuable.
- Dancing experience and confidence teaching exercise routines are important. Experience in sports coaching is a plus.
- Additional experience in kickboxing, cycling, CrossFit, Pilates instruction, or yoga instruction is welcome.
- Familiarity with Pilates, yoga, fitness sales, and client communication is beneficial. Fitness-related first aid and AED training are preferred.
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
