Clinical Technician Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical technician in Tennessee?
Most clinical technician roles in Tennessee require completing an accredited associate or certificate program in your specialty area, such as cardiovascular technology, surgical technology, or clinical laboratory science. Tennessee does not maintain a single statewide license for all clinical technician types, so credentialing is specialty-driven. Sterile processing technicians typically pursue CRCST certification through IAHCSMM, while clinical lab technicians often hold ASCP credentials. Many Tennessee employers treat these certifications as minimum hiring requirements, even for entry-level positions.
Which companies hire clinical technicians in Tennessee?
Employers hiring clinical technicians in Tennessee right now include University of Tennessee, Labcorp, and Naven Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Tennessee's large integrated health systems and academic medical centers generate the most consistent volume of openings across specialties and experience levels.
Which Tennessee cities have the most clinical technician jobs?
Memphis, Nashville, and Brentwood have the most clinical technician openings in Tennessee. Nashville drives the largest share of demand as home to major health systems like HCA Healthcare and Vanderbilt University Medical Center, while Memphis and Knoxville anchor substantial hiring through their own academic medical centers, regional hospital networks, and growing outpatient clinic infrastructure.
Are there remote clinical technician jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, but they are rare. The hands-on, patient-facing nature of most clinical technician work means the majority of roles require on-site presence. About 0% of clinical technician openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to concentrate in roles with an analytical or administrative component, such as remote cardiac monitoring or clinical data coordination.
How can I get hired as a clinical technician in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for technician apprentice or clinical technician associate roles at large Tennessee health systems, which regularly hire candidates who hold or are completing a relevant certification. HCA Healthcare and Vanderbilt University Medical Center both run structured new-hire training tracks that onboard candidates with little direct experience. Lateral moves from adjacent roles such as certified nursing assistant, phlebotomist, or patient care technician are common stepping stones. Earning an entry-level certification like the CRCST or a phlebotomy credential before applying gives candidates a clear competitive edge.
Where can I find and apply to clinical technician jobs in Tennessee?
You can find and apply to clinical technician jobs in Tennessee on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your specialty and experience level, and apply directly to the ones that match.
