We are actively hiring an experienced Travel Pharmacy Technician for a 13-week contract assignment in Atlanta, GA. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with strong hospital pharmacy experience, including IV preparation, hazardous drug handling, and chemotherapy compounding.
Candidates must be detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced acute care hospital environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and compound sterile IV medications
- Handle hazardous medications and chemotherapy preparations safely
- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation and dispensing
- Maintain compliance with USP guidelines and sterile compounding protocols
- Operate pharmacy automation systems and medication management software
- Maintain accurate medication inventory and documentation
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient safety standards
- Support pharmacy workflow in a hospital setting
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent hospital pharmacy experience
- Hands-on experience with:
- IV Preparation
- Hazardous Drug Handling
- Chemo Compounding
- Active Pharmacy Technician license
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT preferred)
- Strong understanding of sterile compounding and safety standards
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience with:
- Pyxis
- Omnicell
- EPIC
- Cerner
- Previous travel assignment experience preferred
- Knowledge of pharmacy workflow and inventory systems
Important Travel Requirement
This is a travel position.
Candidates must live at least 50 miles away from the facility location to qualify for travel pay and stipend eligibility.
