What Our Veterinary Technicians Do
- Triage patients and obtain thorough histories, vitals, and patient assessments
- Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care from intake through discharge
- Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection
- Obtain high-quality radiographs and assist with diagnostic imaging
- Run in-house laboratory testing, including CBC/chemistry, urinalysis, cytology, and other diagnostics
- Support surgical and dental procedures, including preparation, anesthesia monitoring, recovery, and patient discharge
- Monitor anesthesia and patient vitals while maintaining accurate records
- Provide patient monitoring and supportive care, including TPRs, pain scoring, and wound care
- Educate clients on patient care, medications, discharge instructions, and preventative care
- Maintain accurate medical records and patient charts
- Keep treatment and exam areas clean, stocked, and organized
- Collaborate with the team to maintain efficient workflow and a positive hospital culture
- Participate in ongoing training and growth opportunities within the practice

- Current Certified Veterinary Technician credential required
- Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Confidence in safe and effective patient handling and restraint
- Strong technical skills, including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory procedures, and anesthesia monitoring
- Knowledge of preventative care, vaccines, pharmacology, and medication administration
- Experience assisting in surgery, dentistry, and patient nursing care
- Proficiency with radiology, diagnostics, and basic imaging techniques
- Ability to accurately triage patients and obtain thorough medical histories
- Clear, compassionate communication with clients and team members
- Strong attention to detail and accurate medical documentation
- Collaborative, team-first mindset with a willingness to jump in where needed
