Chief Medical Information Officer Jobs in Seattle: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a chief medical information officer job in Seattle?
The strongest path into a chief medical information officer role in Seattle runs through the city's major health systems and academic medical centers, particularly those clustered on First Hill and in South Lake Union. Candidates who combine active clinical backgrounds with demonstrated EHR optimization or population health analytics experience stand out locally. Seattle's growing digital health sector also hires CMIOs to bridge clinical and product teams, making experience with health informatics platforms a genuine differentiator in this market.
Which companies hire chief medical information officers in Seattle?
Seattle chief medical information officer roles are posted by REI, Apple, and Aritzia and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The local employer mix ranges from large integrated health networks and academic hospital systems to venture-backed digital health companies headquartered in South Lake Union and the broader Puget Sound region.
Are there remote chief medical information officer jobs in Seattle?
Yes, though with limits, chief medical information officer work involves significant leadership presence, stakeholder meetings, and clinical staff engagement that tends to require at least a hybrid schedule. About 50% of chief medical information officer openings tied to Seattle are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the role's blend of strategic and operational demands. Strategic advisory functions such as vendor evaluation, informatics policy, and data governance are most commonly performed remotely in Seattle's health systems.
How can I get a chief medical information officer job in Seattle with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Seattle is moving laterally from a clinical role into a medical informatics or clinical informatics director position at one of the city's large health networks or academic medical centers. Seattle-area health systems frequently recruit physician advisors and associate CMIOs as stepping stones, and several digital health companies in South Lake Union hire clinicians into hybrid clinical-product roles that build the same competencies. Familiarity with Epic, which is deeply embedded across Seattle health systems, gives early-career candidates a concrete and visible edge.
Which industries hire the most chief medical information officers in Seattle?
Seattle chief medical information officer roles concentrate in Electronics & Hardware, Sports & Recreation, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Seattle's density of integrated health systems on First Hill, its nationally recognized academic medical research institutions, and its expanding digital health and health technology startup ecosystem collectively drive consistent local demand for this role.
