American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float position at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital requiring Level II trauma experience and a WA or compact RN license.
Details
- Acute care float pool covering medical, surgical, medical-tele, surgical-tele, infusion, ortho, and neurosurgery patients
- Patient ratios of 1:3-5
- 3x12 Day shifts (7:00-19:30) or Night shifts (19:00-7:30) available
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within hospital within scope of practice, no floating to sister hospitals
- Uses EPIC charting system
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, including some Level II trauma experience
- BLS required; ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS preferred
- EPIC charting experience required
- Relias EKG tele compliance test required
- Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response/code team activation
- Experience managing cardiac drips, thrombolytic agents, heparin protocols, and insulin drips
- Experience with pacemakers, post-MI care, pre/post cardiac cath, sheath removal, and TR Band
- Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
- Experience with total joint replacement and traction care preferred
Additional Information
- Work at a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level 4 Trauma facility with 281 staffed beds
- Care for patients with CVA, substance withdrawal, renal failure, and GI conditions among others
- First-time travelers may be considered pending manager screening
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- RTO limited to a maximum of 1 week and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of assignment
- Prior UW staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
- Scrubs may be any color, with scrubs provided for OR personnel
