Clinical Data Analyst Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical data analyst in Indiana?
Indiana does not require a state-issued license to work as a clinical data analyst, so entry centers on education and industry credentials. Most Indiana employers expect at least a bachelor's degree in life sciences, health informatics, biostatistics, or a related field. Earning a credential such as the Society of Clinical Data Management's Certified Clinical Data Manager designation strengthens competitiveness considerably. Candidates who combine a relevant degree with hands-on exposure to clinical data management systems and CDISC standards are best positioned for Indiana's health system and pharma markets.
How much do clinical data analysts make in Indiana?
Clinical data analysts in Indiana earn a median of about $91,470 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $58,750 for the lowest 10% to over $141,250 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire clinical data analysts in Indiana?
Employers hiring clinical data analysts in Indiana right now include Amazon, Google, and Salesforce, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Indiana's pharmaceutical manufacturing base and large integrated health systems generate steady, year-round demand for this role across both clinical research and operational analytics functions.
Which Indiana cities have the most clinical data analyst jobs?
Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, and Indiana have the most clinical data analyst openings in Indiana. Indianapolis drives the largest concentration because it is home to Eli Lilly's global headquarters, Indiana University Health's sprawling network, and a growing life sciences corridor that includes contract research organizations, making it the state's anchor market. South Bend and Fort Wayne contribute meaningful volume through their regional hospital systems and outpatient networks, which manage their own clinical data and quality analytics teams.
Are there remote clinical data analyst jobs in Indiana?
Yes, and more than most fields. Clinical data analysis is predominantly desk-based work involving database management, query resolution, and report generation, which makes it well suited to remote arrangements. About 45% of clinical data analyst openings tied to Indiana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broad employer acceptance of distributed teams. Fully remote roles are most common in data cleaning, CDISC mapping, and regulatory submission support, where on-site presence adds little to the workflow.
How can I get hired as a clinical data analyst in Indiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a clinical research coordinator or data entry associate role at an Indiana health system or contract research organization, which builds the hands-on database exposure that employers require. Indiana University Health and Eskenazi Health routinely post new-graduate and associate-level clinical operations roles that serve as direct pipelines into data analyst positions. Completing the SCDM's online training program or a clinical data management certificate from IUPUI's health informatics department adds a credentialing signal that compensates for limited field experience. Proficiency in a major clinical data management platform such as Medidata Rave, demonstrated through coursework or a personal project, accelerates the transition considerably.
Where can I find and apply to clinical data analyst jobs in Indiana?
You can find and apply to clinical data analyst jobs in Indiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current Indiana openings updated regularly. Search for roles that match your background, whether that is clinical trial data management, health system analytics, or pharmaceutical regulatory data, and apply directly to the ones that fit. No account creation is needed to see the listings.
