Clinical Medical Assistant Jobs in Wyoming: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical medical assistant in Wyoming?
Wyoming does not issue a state license for clinical medical assistants, so the path runs through employer-recognized national credentials. Most Wyoming employers expect candidates to hold a Certified Medical Assistant credential from the American Association of Medical Assistants or a Registered Medical Assistant credential from American Medical Technologists, both requiring graduation from an accredited program. Community colleges like Laramie County Community College and Casper College offer accredited medical assisting programs that align directly with Wyoming employer requirements.
Which companies hire clinical medical assistants in Wyoming?
Wyoming clinical medical assistant roles are posted by HealthTrust Workforce Solutions, US Department of Veterans Affairs, and IQVIA and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Wyoming's hiring is spread across hospital-affiliated clinics, federally qualified health centers, and independent rural practices serving the state's geographically spread communities.
Which Wyoming cities have the most clinical medical assistant jobs?
Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Lander have the most clinical medical assistant openings in Wyoming. Cheyenne and Casper lead because they host the state's largest hospital systems and the highest concentration of multi-specialty physician groups, while Gillette's openings are driven by its role as the primary healthcare hub for northeast Wyoming's energy-industry workforce.
Are there remote clinical medical assistant jobs in Wyoming?
Yes, but they're rare. Clinical medical assistants work hands-on with patients, so most Wyoming openings require an on-site presence in a clinic, hospital, or community health setting. About 43% of clinical medical assistant openings tied to Wyoming are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, which reflects the role's in-person nature. The most remote-eligible tasks are patient follow-up calls and prior authorization support, which some larger Wyoming practices handle off-site.
How can I get hired as a clinical medical assistant in Wyoming with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is completing a medical assisting program at Laramie County Community College or Casper College, which include clinical externships that often convert directly into job offers at Wyoming clinics. Wyoming Medical Center and Cheyenne Regional Medical Center regularly take on new graduates for entry-level clinical assistant and patient care technician roles. Candidates moving laterally from certified nursing assistant or medical receptionist positions also have a clear path in, especially in rural clinics that value versatility. Holding a current CMA or RMA credential, even without prior clinical employment, is the single biggest edge in Wyoming listings.
Where can I find and apply to clinical medical assistant jobs in Wyoming?
You can find and apply to clinical medical assistant jobs in Wyoming on Migrate Mate, which lists current Wyoming openings across Cheyenne, Casper, Gillette, and other communities in the state. Search the listings to find roles that fit your credentials and experience, then apply directly to the ones that match.
