Responsibilities

About the Team
This role sits within our Global Trust & Safety and Technology Communications team and will work closely with cross-functional Product, Trust and Safety, Legal, Public Policy teams, as well as global communications colleagues across all regions. This role will be critical in communicating how TikTok protects its community—particularly teenagers—by complying with global regulations, with core responsibilities including creating global announcement materials, monitoring regulatory landscapes, providing communications counsel on compliance matters, and empowering global colleagues with essential communications tools and guidance. We're looking for an experienced communications professional to join our Global Trust & Safety and Technology Communications team. In this role, you'll play a leading role in communicating how TikTok protects its community, and teenagers in particular, by complying with regulations around the world.

Responsibilities
- Create blog posts, media pitches, and launch materials to amplify global announcements and initiatives, working closely with regional teams to adapt these announcements to their markets.
- Draft materials that help empower our global communications colleagues, such as fact sheets and executive bios.
- Monitor and analyze the global regulatory landscape to provide actionable insights that protect and enhance TikTok’s reputation.
- Work collaboratively with Product, Trust and Safety, Legal, Public Policy, and other teams, providing communications counsel and support, ensuring message accuracy and consistency.
- Train and advise spokespeople in preparation for media interviews, press conferences, and presentations.
- Travel as needed to support the team and be willing to work flexible hours when needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
- 5+ years' experience in external communications
- Understanding of global regulatory efforts that focus on social media and teenagers
- Experience working in Public Affairs or Policy Communications
- Proven track record of writing to a high standard
- Experience working for an agency and in-house at a global company
- Press office or crisis communications experience

Job Information

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $121600 - $220400 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
