Senior Level Communications Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level communications job?
Employers hiring at the senior level want candidates who have owned communications programs end to end, not just contributed to them. A strong portfolio showing measurable outcomes, experience advising leadership, and the ability to develop or mentor others carries the most weight. Tailoring your materials to show strategic impact rather than task execution is what separates competitive candidates at this stage.
Which companies hire senior level communicationss?
Companies hiring senior level communicationss right now include CVS Health, Apple, and Databricks, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including large corporations managing complex communications functions, government agencies, nonprofits with public-facing missions, and fast-growing companies building out their communications leadership for the first time.
Are there remote senior level communications jobs?
Yes, remote and hybrid availability at the senior level is real and growing. About 44% of senior level communications openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how many organizations now treat senior communications leaders as distributed contributors. Fully on-site roles still exist, particularly in regulated industries or organizations where executive access and in-person presence are core to the function.
What makes a communications role senior level?
Senior level communications roles are defined by ownership and scope rather than execution alone. Professionals at this stage set the strategy behind messaging, oversee how it gets delivered across channels and audiences, and are accountable for outcomes rather than just outputs. They typically guide or manage others, advise leadership directly, and are expected to bring informed judgment to complex or high-visibility communications decisions.
Which industries hire the most senior level communicationss?
Senior Level communications roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to drive hiring at the senior level because their communications functions carry significant reputational, regulatory, or stakeholder complexity that requires experienced leadership rather than generalist support.
