Mid Level Communications Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level communications manager job?
Lead with ownership. Hiring managers at this level want to see campaigns or initiatives you ran from brief to results, not just tasks you contributed to. Tailor your resume to highlight decisions you made, stakeholders you managed, and measurable outcomes you delivered. A portfolio of writing samples, press coverage, or content you produced strengthens your application considerably.
Which companies hire mid level communications managers?
Companies hiring mid level communications managers right now include Deloitte, Amazon, and TikTok, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level covers corporate communications teams at large enterprises, in-house brand and PR departments at mid-size companies, and mission-driven organizations with dedicated communications functions.
Are there remote mid level communications manager jobs?
Yes, and the share is meaningful. About 24% of mid level communications manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how broadly employers have accepted distributed communications work. Fully on-site roles still exist, particularly in industries where real-time coordination with leadership or media is a daily requirement.
How do I move up to a mid level communications manager role?
The shift from entry level to mid level happens when your work reflects ownership rather than execution. Build it by volunteering to lead a project rather than support one, developing a specialty such as crisis communications, executive visibility, or content strategy, and documenting results that connect your work to business outcomes. Consistent cross-functional collaboration and the ability to manage up are what hiring managers look for when promoting or hiring at this stage.
Which industries hire the most mid level communications managers?
Mid Level communications manager roles concentrate in Education, Technology & Software, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to drive hiring at this level because they maintain active public relations, internal communications, and content functions that need experienced professionals who can operate with real autonomy.
