Mid Level Communications Specialist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level communications specialist job?
Position yourself around ownership and outcomes rather than tasks. Highlight campaigns or projects you led from brief to launch, any cross-functional collaboration you drove, and measurable results like coverage placed, audience growth, or engagement lift. Tailor your resume to show you can operate with limited oversight, and bring a portfolio of writing samples that demonstrate range and strategic intent.
Which companies hire mid level communications specialists?
Companies hiring mid level communications specialists right now include Deloitte, Amazon, and TikTok, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring covers corporate communications teams, mission-driven nonprofits, government agencies, and consumer brands that need someone who can manage projects independently and mentor more junior staff.
Are there remote mid level communications specialist jobs?
Yes, remote and hybrid options are common at this level. About 24% of mid level communications specialist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how much of the work, writing, editing, media outreach, and content strategy, can be done effectively outside a traditional office setting.
How do I move up to a mid level communications specialist role?
The path from entry level to mid level is built on demonstrated ownership. Start by volunteering to lead discrete projects, not just execute pieces of them. Develop a specialty, whether that is media relations, internal communications, or content strategy, and pursue measurable results you can speak to. Consistently delivering with less guidance signals readiness for mid level responsibility.
Which industries hire the most mid level communications specialists?
Mid Level communications specialist roles concentrate in Education, Technology & Software, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to have complex stakeholder audiences, ongoing content needs, and communications functions large enough to support specialists who can work independently on strategy and execution.
