Align Your Certifications to AIT Client Needs
Applied Industrial Technologies serves industrial and manufacturing clients who expect controls technicians to hold credentials like PLC programming certifications or NFPA 70E compliance training. Employers in consulting and technical services weight certifications heavily when building PERM documentation.
Target Branch Locations with Active Openings
Applied Industrial Technologies operates service branches across the country, and hiring demand for controls technicians shifts by region based on client contract activity. Focus your applications on locations advertising multiple openings, which signals active project pipelines rather than one-off backfills.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Visa-Sponsoring Roles
Not every Controls Technician listing at Applied Industrial Technologies is tied to a sponsorship-eligible position. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles where the company has a confirmed sponsorship history, so you're not pursuing openings that will stall at the offer stage.
Understand How PERM Shapes Your Timeline
Applied Industrial Technologies has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for technical roles, both of which require DOL PERM labor certification before USCIS adjudication. That process typically adds 12 to 18 months before you can file the immigrant petition, so plan your job transition window accordingly.
Clarify Sponsorship Scope Early in Interviews
Controls technician roles in industrial services can blur between permanent field staff and contract-based deployment. Confirm during your interview whether the specific position is a direct hire, since PERM sponsorship requires a bona fide permanent job offer at a defined worksite.
Document Specialized System Experience Before You Apply
Applied Industrial Technologies' technical service work often involves proprietary automation platforms and fluid power systems. Prepare detailed records of the specific systems you've maintained or programmed, since PERM job descriptions for specialty technical roles require precise experience requirements tied to the actual work performed.

Does Applied Industrial Technologies sponsor H-1B visas for Controls Technicians?
Applied Industrial Technologies' sponsorship activity for Controls Technician roles has primarily been through permanent residency pathways like EB-2 and EB-3 rather than H-1B. Controls Technician positions typically require hands-on technical work that may not always meet the H-1B specialty occupation threshold, so Green Card sponsorship through PERM is the more common route for this role at this company.
Which visa types are commonly used for Controls Technician roles at Applied Industrial Technologies?
EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas are the primary sponsorship pathways for Controls Technician roles at Applied Industrial Technologies. EB-3 is the more likely fit for technician-level positions, covering skilled workers with at least two years of training or experience. Both categories require the employer to complete DOL PERM labor certification before USCIS can adjudicate the immigrant petition.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Controls Technician roles at Applied Industrial Technologies?
Applied Industrial Technologies looks for controls technicians with hands-on experience in PLC programming, industrial automation systems, and fluid power or mechanical components. An associate degree or technical certification in electrical or controls engineering is typically expected, along with demonstrated troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing or industrial services environment. Field service or client-facing technical support experience strengthens your application.
How do I apply for Controls Technician jobs at Applied Industrial Technologies?
You can browse and apply for Controls Technician openings at Applied Industrial Technologies through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles with confirmed visa sponsorship history. When you apply, tailor your resume to highlight system-specific experience such as PLCs, HMI platforms, or fluid power systems, and be explicit about your work authorization status so the hiring team can assess sponsorship eligibility from the start.
How do I understand the timeline for Green Card sponsorship at Applied Industrial Technologies?
Once Applied Industrial Technologies agrees to sponsor you, the PERM labor certification process with the DOL typically takes 12 to 18 months before the immigrant petition can be filed with USCIS. EB-3 processing time after PERM approval varies based on your country of birth and visa backlog. For most countries other than India and China, total time from job offer to Green Card approval can range from two to four years.
