Certify Your Technical Credentials Before Applying
Applied Industrial Technologies prioritizes documented technical competency for Service Tech roles. Certifications in fluid power, bearings, or industrial automation strengthen your petition's specialty occupation framing and give your employer cleaner documentation when filing.
Target Branch Locations With Active Openings
Applied Industrial Technologies operates service branches nationwide, and hiring activity varies by region. Focus your applications on locations with multiple open Service Tech postings, which signals active workforce expansion and a higher likelihood of sponsorship support.
Clarify Sponsorship Intentions During Screening
Ask directly about EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship timelines during your recruiter screen. Applied Industrial Technologies has used both categories for technical roles, so understanding which pathway applies to your position helps you set realistic expectations before accepting an offer.
Understand the PERM Labor Certification Timeline
Permanent residency through EB-3 requires DOL PERM labor certification before USCIS can adjudicate your immigrant visa petition. This process can take one to two years before your priority date is even established, so align your employment start date accordingly.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Service Tech Roles
Not all Service Tech postings at Applied Industrial Technologies surface on general job boards with sponsorship context. Use Migrate Mate to filter and find roles at this company where sponsorship is confirmed, saving you time spent on applications that won't lead to visa support.
Request a Written Sponsorship Commitment Before Signing
Once an offer is verbal, ask HR to confirm the sponsorship pathway in writing before you sign. Applied Industrial Technologies processes sponsorships internally, and having documented intent protects you if personnel or budget priorities shift after you've joined.

Find Service Tech at Applied Industrial Technologies JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Applied Industrial Technologies sponsor H-1B visas for Service Techs?
Applied Industrial Technologies' sponsorship activity for Service Tech roles has historically centered on permanent residency pathways rather than H-1B. Service Tech positions are typically classified as skilled trades rather than specialty occupations under USCIS definitions, which makes H-1B eligibility difficult to establish. If you're seeking sponsorship here, an EB-3 immigrant visa pathway is the more realistic route to pursue.
Which visa types are commonly used for Service Tech roles at Applied Industrial Technologies?
Applied Industrial Technologies has sponsored Service Tech employees through EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories, both of which lead to a Green Card. EB-3 is the more common fit for skilled technician roles and requires the employer to complete DOL PERM labor certification. EB-2 may apply if your role requires an advanced degree or you qualify for a national interest waiver, though that's less common in industrial services.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Service Tech roles at Applied Industrial Technologies?
Applied Industrial Technologies typically looks for hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, power transmission, or fluid systems. Familiarity with bearings, belts, hydraulics, or pneumatic systems is commonly expected. Technical certifications from organizations like the International Fluid Power Society strengthen your application. Prior experience in distribution, manufacturing support, or field service roles directly translates to what these positions require day-to-day.
How do I apply for Service Tech jobs at Applied Industrial Technologies?
You can find and apply for Service Tech openings at Applied Industrial Technologies directly through their careers page or through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can confirm sponsorship availability before applying. When you apply, tailor your resume to highlight specific technical systems experience and any relevant certifications, as these directly map to what hiring managers screen for in this role.
How do I navigate the timeline from job offer to Green Card sponsorship at Applied Industrial Technologies?
After your start date, your employer typically initiates PERM labor certification with the DOL, which involves recruiting documentation and prevailing wage determination. That process alone can take over a year before USCIS receives your I-140 petition. Once your I-140 is approved, your priority date determines when you can file for adjustment of status. Planning for a multi-year process from offer to Green Card approval is realistic for most EB-3 cases in this field.
