Frame your experience around consultative selling
Applied Industrial Technologies sells engineered solutions, not off-the-shelf products. Highlight experience managing complex sales cycles, working with procurement teams, or selling technical products. Generic retail or SaaS sales backgrounds are harder to position for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship here.
Target open territories with persistent headcount needs
Applied Industrial's Sales roles are geographically distributed across distribution centers and industrial corridors. Applying to locations in the Midwest or Southeast, where industrial customer density is high, improves your odds of landing on a team actively building headcount rather than backfilling a single departure.
Understand the PERM labor certification timeline early
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship requires PERM certification through DOL before USCIS adjudicates your immigrant petition. For Sales roles, this process typically takes 12 to 18 months before the I-140 is even filed. Plan your employment start accordingly and confirm the employer's intent during offer negotiations.
Ask about sponsorship scope during the offer stage
Not every Sales hire triggers a sponsorship commitment automatically. During offer discussions, clarify whether the role is approved for immigrant visa support, who manages the PERM filing internally, and whether outside immigration counsel is involved. Getting clarity before signing avoids misaligned expectations after onboarding.
Align your credentials with specialty occupation standards
For H-1B eligibility in a Sales role, USCIS requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, typically demanding a bachelor's degree in a specific field like business, engineering, or chemistry relevant to industrial products. Document the technical nature of the role carefully in any petition.
Search for Sales openings through Migrate Mate
Applied Industrial Technologies posts Sales roles across multiple locations and business units. Use Migrate Mate to filter for positions at this company that align with your visa type and experience level, so you're applying to roles where sponsorship history is already established.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Applied Industrial Technologies sponsor H-1B visas for Sales?
Applied Industrial Technologies primarily sponsors Sales talent through permanent residence pathways like EB-2 and EB-3, rather than H-1B visa. H-1B sponsorship for Sales roles is less common because these positions must qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria, which requires demonstrating that a specific bachelor's degree in a relevant technical or business field is a minimum requirement for the role, not just preferred.
How do I apply for Sales jobs at Applied Industrial Technologies?
Applications go through Applied Industrial Technologies' careers portal, where roles are listed by region and business unit. Before applying, review the job description carefully to identify whether the position is customer-facing, territory-based, or aligned with a specific product category. Migrate Mate also aggregates Sales openings at this company, letting you filter by visa sponsorship history before you apply.
Which visa types are commonly used for Sales roles at Applied Industrial Technologies?
EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas are the most relevant pathways for Sales professionals at Applied Industrial Technologies. EB-3 covers skilled workers with a bachelor's degree and is the more accessible route for most Sales candidates. EB-2 applies if the role requires an advanced degree or you can demonstrate exceptional ability in your field. Both require DOL PERM labor certification before USCIS adjudication.
What qualifications does Applied Industrial Technologies expect for sponsored Sales roles?
Most sponsored Sales positions at Applied Industrial Technologies require a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, supply chain, or a related technical field, combined with demonstrated B2B or industrial sales experience. Familiarity with distribution channels, MRO products, or industrial services strengthens your profile. Roles focused on key accounts or engineered solutions tend to have the clearest path to sponsorship eligibility under specialty occupation criteria.
How long does the sponsorship and visa process typically take for a Sales hire?
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, the timeline from PERM filing to an approved I-140 petition is typically 18 to 24 months, assuming no audits or requests for evidence from DOL or USCIS. Depending on your country of birth, priority date backlogs may extend the wait significantly beyond that before you can file for adjustment of status. Aligning your start date and any existing visa status with this timeline is critical.
