Align your credentials with Colorado licensing requirements
Catholic schools in the Archdiocese follow Colorado educator licensing standards. Before applying, verify your foreign teaching credentials are evaluated by a NACES-approved agency so your qualifications translate directly to the role requirements.
Target subject areas with consistent vacancies
The Archdiocese regularly hires for STEM, special education, and theology across its network of schools. Focusing your applications on these high-need areas improves your chances of finding a principal willing to pursue sponsorship.
Understand how TN status applies to teachers
If you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship, the TN visa applies to teachers at private schools without a cap or lottery. The Archdiocese sponsors TN status, so confirm your degree field matches the role description before the offer stage.
Clarify H-1B sponsorship intent early in interviews
Catholic school hiring decisions often rest with individual principals, not a central HR department. Raise sponsorship directly with the hiring principal before advancing to formal offer discussions, so both sides understand the timeline and filing requirements upfront.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Teaching roles at the Archdiocese
The Archdiocese posts positions across multiple school campuses throughout the year. Browse current openings filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate to identify which Teaching roles at Archdiocese of Denver are actively available to sponsored candidates.
Confirm your employer's H-1B filing timeline before the school year
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed in April for an October start, which often misaligns with a typical August school year start. Work with the Archdiocese HR team to determine whether cap-exempt status or a change of status from F-1 OPT applies to your situation.

Yes, the Archdiocese of Denver has a history of sponsoring H-1B visas for Teaching roles. As a religious organization operating accredited Catholic schools, it qualifies as an H-1B employer. Sponsorship decisions are typically made at the school or diocesan HR level, so confirming willingness early in the hiring process is important before assuming every open role includes sponsorship.
How do I apply for Teaching jobs at Archdiocese of Denver?
Open Teaching positions are posted across the Archdiocese's school network throughout the hiring season, with the heaviest recruitment occurring between January and April for the following school year. You can browse current roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, then apply directly through the Archdiocese or the individual school's application process. Having your credentials evaluated and a Colorado teaching license in progress strengthens your application.
Which visa types does Archdiocese of Denver commonly use for Teaching roles?
The Archdiocese of Denver sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for Teaching positions. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates in education programs, while TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals with qualifying teaching degrees. Each visa type has different timing and eligibility requirements you'll need to match against your specific situation.

For specialty subjects like special education or STEM, relevant certification strengthens your candidacy significantly.
How do I manage the timing between a Teaching offer and my visa filing?
The biggest timing challenge for Teachers is the gap between when schools hire, typically spring, and when certain visa categories become effective. F-1 OPT allows you to start work before H-1B approval if your employer files on your behalf during the April cap season. TN status can be obtained at a port of entry with a job offer letter, making it faster. Coordinating your offer letter date, license application, and USCIS filing deadlines with the Archdiocese HR team early avoids last-minute delays.
