Document Your Aviation Maintenance Certifications Early
FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificates are central to the Repair Technician role. Have your credentials evaluated and translated before you reach the offer stage so Atlantic Aviation's HR team isn't waiting on paperwork that slows the H-1B petition timeline.
Target Locations With Active Maintenance Operations
Atlantic Aviation operates fixed-base operator facilities across the U.S., and hiring volume for Repair Technicians isn't uniform across sites. Prioritize applying to locations with heavy aircraft traffic, where backfill needs are more consistent and sponsorship decisions move faster.
Find Open Roles Through Migrate Mate
Search Migrate Mate to browse Repair Technician openings at Atlantic Aviation filtered by visa type. This lets you identify which specific locations are actively hiring and sponsoring, so you're not applying blind to postings where sponsorship isn't on the table.
Understand How TN Status Works for Technicians
Canadian and Mexican nationals with engineering or science credentials may qualify for TN status for certain Repair Technician roles. Confirm with Atlantic Aviation's HR that your specific job duties and degree field align with an eligible TN category before the offer is finalized.
Ask About OPT Cap-Gap Coverage During Interviews
If you're on F-1 OPT and the H-1B lottery falls in your last months of work authorization, Atlantic Aviation will need to file before April 1 to maintain your continuous employment. Raise cap-gap timing explicitly so the company's immigration counsel can account for it.
Align Your Resume to DOL Prevailing Wage Criteria
Atlantic Aviation's LCA filing with DOL certifies your wage against prevailing wage levels for the Repair Technician occupation. Frame your experience in terms of specific aircraft systems and maintenance tasks so the job description supports the correct wage level classification.

Does Atlantic Aviation sponsor H-1B visas for Repair Technicians?
Yes, Atlantic Aviation sponsors H-1B visas for Repair Technician roles. The process requires the company to file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL and then submit a petition to USCIS on your behalf. Because H-1B cap-subject petitions are subject to an annual lottery, timing your offer and application well before the April 1 filing window is critical.
How do I apply for Repair Technician jobs at Atlantic Aviation?
Apply directly through Atlantic Aviation's careers page or use Migrate Mate to find and filter open Repair Technician roles by visa sponsorship type and location. When applying, make sure your resume clearly reflects hands-on maintenance experience and any FAA certifications you hold, as these are typically screening criteria before a recruiter reaches out.
Which visa types are commonly used for Repair Technician roles at Atlantic Aviation?
Atlantic Aviation sponsors several visa categories for Repair Technicians, including H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and employment-based Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 categories. The right pathway depends on your nationality, educational background, and career stage. Canadian and Mexican nationals often explore TN status, while candidates pursuing long-term residency typically enter the EB-3 PERM process.
What qualifications and experience does Atlantic Aviation expect for Repair Technicians?
Atlantic Aviation typically looks for candidates with an FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate or equivalent foreign credentials, along with documented hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance or avionics. Roles may also require familiarity with specific aircraft types serviced at the location you're applying to. Foreign credential evaluations are often required when your qualifications were earned outside the U.S.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Repair Technician at Atlantic Aviation?
Timeline varies by visa type. TN status for eligible Canadian nationals can be granted at the port of entry in a single day. H-1B standard processing typically takes three to five months after USCIS receives the petition, while premium processing can reduce that to around 15 business days. EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM is a multi-year process and is generally pursued once you're already employed at the company.
