Document your aircraft maintenance credentials early
FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificates are central to Service Technician hiring at Atlantic Aviation. Gather your maintenance logbooks, training records, and any OEM certifications before you apply, since employers use these to build the specialty occupation case for your H-1B petition.
Target FBO locations with active hiring
Atlantic Aviation operates fixed-base operator facilities at multiple U.S. airports. Research which locations have open Service Technician postings, since the sponsoring entity and prevailing wage level are tied to the specific worksite DOL receives on your Labor Condition Application.
Clarify OPT STEM extension eligibility before accepting an offer
Aviation services companies are not always classified under STEM-eligible NAICS codes, which affects whether F-1 students can access a 24-month OPT extension. Confirm the specific employing entity's industry classification with your DSO before you accept an offer relying on extended OPT.
Ask HR directly about TN status for Canadian and Mexican applicants
Service Technician roles can qualify under the TN visa category when the position requires engineering or scientific technician duties. Ask Atlantic Aviation's HR team how they have structured previous TN petitions for this role, since job title framing matters for USCIS review.
Use Migrate Mate to identify active Service Technician openings
Sponsorship-willing employers post and remove roles quickly. Search Migrate Mate to filter Atlantic Aviation's current Service Technician openings by visa type so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed, not inferring it from older filing data.
Anticipate PERM timing if your goal is a Green Card
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship through PERM requires Atlantic Aviation to run a supervised recruitment process before filing with DOL. That process typically takes 12 to 18 months before your I-140 petition can be filed, so align your visa status timeline accordingly when negotiating your start date.

Does Atlantic Aviation sponsor H-1B visas for Service Technicians?
Yes, Atlantic Aviation sponsors H-1B visas for Service Technician roles. The position needs to qualify as a specialty occupation, which typically means demonstrating that a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in a relevant technical field is a standard requirement for the role. Your FAA certifications and documented maintenance experience support that case alongside your academic credentials.
How do I apply for Service Technician jobs at Atlantic Aviation?
You can find current Service Technician openings at Atlantic Aviation through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm sponsorship availability before applying. When you apply, tailor your resume to highlight FAA certifications, aircraft-specific experience, and any prior work at FBO or MRO operations, since those are the qualifications Atlantic Aviation's hiring teams prioritize for this role.
Which visa types does Atlantic Aviation commonly use for Service Technician roles?
Atlantic Aviation has sponsored H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3 for Service Technician positions. F-1 CPT and OPT are common entry points for candidates still in school or recently graduated. TN status is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose role qualifies under USMCA technician categories.
What qualifications does Atlantic Aviation expect for sponsored Service Technician positions?
Atlantic Aviation typically looks for FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification, hands-on experience with aircraft line service or maintenance, and familiarity with FBO operational environments. For visa sponsorship purposes, having a relevant technical degree or documented equivalent experience is important because it supports the specialty occupation determination required for H-1B filings and the skills assessment used in EB-3 PERM cases.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Service Technician role at Atlantic Aviation?
Timeline depends on visa type. H-1B sponsorship through the annual lottery has a cap-subject start date of October 1, so you need an offer in place before the March registration window. TN status can be processed at a port of entry with same-day approval. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM typically takes two to four years from initial filing to approval, depending on your priority date and country of birth.
