Verify Your FAA Certificate Equivalency Early
If you hold an aircraft maintenance license from another country, confirm whether it qualifies for FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate conversion before applying. Atlantic Aviation's Maintenance Technician roles require FAA A&P certification, and this process can take several months.
Target Atlantic Aviation FBO Locations Strategically
Atlantic Aviation operates FBOs at major general aviation airports nationwide. Research which locations have the highest Maintenance Technician turnover, since those facilities are more likely to open sponsorship discussions with qualified candidates who approach them directly.
Align Your Resume With FAA Part 145 Language
Atlantic Aviation facilities operate as FAA Part 145 repair stations. Frame your maintenance experience using Part 145 terminology, including inspection authorization scope and return-to-service signoffs, so hiring managers immediately recognize your credentials as relevant.
Understand TN Visa Eligibility for This Role
If you're a Canadian or Mexican citizen, the TN visa can be a faster path into Atlantic Aviation than H-1B. Confirm with the hiring team whether the Maintenance Technician role is being classified in a way that supports TN eligibility under the relevant USMCA occupation category.
Time Your Application Around H-1B Cap Registration
For H-1B sponsorship, USCIS registration opens in March each year with an April 1 fiscal year start. If Atlantic Aviation extends an offer outside that window, ask whether they'll pursue a cap-exempt filing or hold your start date for the next cap season.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Active Openings
Maintenance Technician positions at Atlantic Aviation rotate frequently by location and shift structure. Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles specifically tagged for visa sponsorship so you're applying to positions where the team has already confirmed sponsorship is on the table.

Find Maintenance Technician at Atlantic Aviation JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Atlantic Aviation sponsor H-1B visas for Maintenance Technicians?
Yes, Atlantic Aviation has a track record of H-1B sponsorship for Maintenance Technician roles. Because these are specialty occupation positions requiring FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification and relevant technical training, they generally satisfy USCIS specialty occupation criteria. You'll want to confirm sponsorship availability with the specific facility you're applying to, as decisions can vary by location and current headcount.
How do I apply for Maintenance Technician jobs at Atlantic Aviation?
Applications go through Atlantic Aviation's careers portal, where Maintenance Technician openings are listed by FBO location. Before applying, confirm your FAA A&P certificate status, since it's a hard requirement for most postings. Migrate Mate aggregates Atlantic Aviation's open Maintenance Technician roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you can identify which positions are actively open to sponsored candidates before submitting.
Which visa types are commonly used for Maintenance Technician roles at Atlantic Aviation?
Atlantic Aviation sponsors several visa categories for Maintenance Technicians, including H-1B for specialty occupation workers, TN visas for qualifying Canadian and Mexican citizens, and F-1 OPT or CPT for students completing aviation maintenance programs. For longer-term permanent residency pathways, EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa sponsorship has also been part of Atlantic Aviation's sponsorship profile, typically initiated after a period of employment.
What qualifications does Atlantic Aviation expect for sponsored Maintenance Technician positions?
The baseline requirement is an FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate. Beyond that, Atlantic Aviation's FBOs operate as FAA Part 145 repair stations, so hands-on experience with return-to-service processes and inspection documentation is expected. International applicants should also be prepared to demonstrate English proficiency for technical communication and show that their prior maintenance training meets FAA equivalency standards.
How do I understand the sponsorship timeline for a Maintenance Technician role at Atlantic Aviation?
Timeline depends on visa type. TN sponsorship for eligible Canadian or Mexican nationals can be processed at the port of entry in a matter of hours. H-1B requires USCIS registration in March, with employment starting no earlier than October 1 of that fiscal year, unless premium processing is used and a cap-exempt pathway applies. F-1 OPT allows work authorization for up to 12 months post-graduation with no employer petition required to begin.
