Align your portfolio to BCG's delivery model
BCG Technical Solutions Architect roles focus on designing and implementing solutions within client engagements, not internal IT. Tailor your experience to show cross-functional delivery in consulting or professional services contexts, not just product or infrastructure work.
Verify your degree field supports specialty occupation
USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation status for architect roles at consulting firms. Confirm your degree field directly maps to systems architecture, computer science, or engineering. A management degree with technical experience alone can trigger a Request for Evidence.
Request the LCA wage level before signing
BCG files a Labor Condition Application with DOL before your petition. Ask HR which prevailing wage level they intend to certify at. Level I or II for an architect role at a firm of BCG's seniority profile can create issues during adjudication.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open TSA roles at BCG
BCG posts Technical Solutions Architect openings across practice areas and geographies. Search Migrate Mate to filter specifically for BCG roles that include visa sponsorship, so you're targeting active positions rather than cold-applying through general job boards.
Secure reference letters before the offer stage
BCG's immigration team moves quickly after an offer is signed. Have two or three professional reference letters ready that speak to your architecture work on specific projects. Waiting until filing starts adds unnecessary delays to an already tight H-1B timeline.

Find Technical Solutions Architect at Boston Consulting Group JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Boston Consulting Group sponsor H-1B visas for Technical Solutions Architects?
Yes, Boston Consulting Group sponsors H-1B visas for Technical Solutions Architect roles. BCG has a well-established immigration program and works with outside counsel to manage petitions. If you're subject to the H-1B lottery, BCG will register you in April for an October 1 start. Australians and Chileans may be offered the E-3 or H-1B1 instead, which skip the lottery entirely.
How do I apply for Technical Solutions Architect jobs at Boston Consulting Group?
Apply directly through BCG's careers portal or find open roles filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate. BCG's hiring process for Technical Solutions Architects typically includes a recruiter screen, technical and case-style interviews, and a final round. Tailor your application to show client-facing solution delivery experience, since BCG prioritizes consulting context over pure engineering background.
Which visa types does Boston Consulting Group commonly use for Technical Solutions Architect roles?
BCG sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Technical Solutions Architect positions. The right category depends on your nationality. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status, which has no cap and can be obtained at the border. Australian citizens are eligible for the E-3, which also bypasses the H-1B lottery and has a separate annual allocation.
What qualifications does BCG look for in a Technical Solutions Architect?
BCG typically expects a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related technical field, plus hands-on experience designing and delivering enterprise solutions in client-facing or consulting environments. Proficiency with cloud platforms, integration architecture, or data systems is common in job postings. For visa purposes, your degree field needs to directly align with the role under USCIS specialty occupation standards.
How do I understand the visa sponsorship timeline for a BCG Technical Solutions Architect offer?
Timeline depends on your visa category. H-1B petitions filed in April have an October 1 start date, so expect a six-month gap between offer and your first day if lottery registration is needed. E-3 and TN filings move faster, often within four to eight weeks of an offer. F-1 OPT can bridge the gap if you're already authorized to work. Ask BCG's HR team for a timeline breakdown specific to your nationality early in the offer process.
