Certify Your Technical Credentials Before Applying
Healthcare facilities like Boston Medical Center look for certifications tied to biomedical equipment, HVAC, or electrical systems. Having credentials current and documented before you apply removes a common bottleneck in the sponsor evaluation process.
Research Which Departments File LCAs
Boston Medical Center's service and facilities divisions each handle different equipment scopes. Search DOL's FLAG system for Labor Condition Applications filed under Boston Medical Center to see which job titles and worksites have recent sponsorship activity.
Target Roles Tied to Regulated Medical Equipment
Positions servicing FDA-regulated or Joint Commission-audited equipment, such as imaging systems or sterilization units, carry stronger specialty occupation arguments. These roles are easier for your employer's immigration counsel to document when filing your H-1B petition.
Clarify Sponsorship Timing During the Offer Stage
Ask your recruiter directly whether the role is budgeted for H-1B filing in the next cap season. Hospital HR teams at large academic medical centers often have internal approval workflows that can delay a USCIS filing if not initiated early.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Open Service Tech Roles
Search verified Service Tech openings at Boston Medical Center on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles with confirmed sponsorship history. This saves time you'd otherwise spend cold-applying to postings with no visa support.

Find Service Tech at Boston Medical Center JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Boston Medical Center sponsor H-1B visas for Service Techs?
Yes, Boston Medical Center sponsors H-1B visas for Service Tech roles. As a large academic medical center, it has established immigration infrastructure and works with outside counsel to support technical staff in qualifying specialty occupations. Your specific role will need to meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard, which typically requires a directly related bachelor's degree or equivalent.
How do I apply for Service Tech jobs at Boston Medical Center?
Applications go through Boston Medical Center's careers portal, where Service Tech postings are listed under facilities, biomedical engineering, or clinical operations depending on the department. You can also find verified, sponsorship-confirmed openings through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles at employers with active visa sponsorship history, saving you the guesswork of cold-applying.
Which visa types does Boston Medical Center use for Service Tech roles?
Boston Medical Center has sponsored both H-1B nonimmigrant visas and employment-based immigrant visas at the EB-2 and EB-3 preference levels for technical staff. H-1B is the most common starting point for international hires. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship typically comes after a period of H-1B employment, with EB-3 being the more common pathway for Service Tech roles requiring a bachelor's degree.
What qualifications does Boston Medical Center expect for Service Tech positions?
Expectations vary by sub-specialty within Service Tech, but most roles require a bachelor's degree or associate degree combined with relevant certifications in biomedical technology, electrical systems, or facilities engineering. Joint Commission compliance and experience with hospital-grade equipment carry weight. For H-1B eligibility, USCIS requires the role to have a clear degree requirement in a specific field, so degree-to-role alignment matters.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take at a hospital like Boston Medical Center?
The standard H-1B timeline runs roughly six to nine months from Labor Condition Application filing through USCIS adjudication, assuming a cap-subject petition filed in April for an October 1 start. Premium processing reduces USCIS adjudication to 15 business days but does not shorten the LCA step. Large health systems often begin internal approval workflows two to three months before the April cap registration window opens.
