Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Senior Software Engineering Jobs at Brown and Caldwell Jobs
Align your portfolio with environmental tech systems
Brown and Caldwell's software roles support water, environmental, and infrastructure consulting workflows. Highlight experience with data pipelines, geospatial tools, or asset management platforms. Generic enterprise software backgrounds are harder to position than domain-adjacent technical work.
Verify your OPT timeline before applying
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm how many months remain before initiating contact. Brown and Caldwell's hiring cycle for senior roles can run several months, and you'll need enough runway for onboarding and any H-1B filing preparation to align without a gap in work authorization.
Ask directly about in-house immigration support
Consulting firms often manage sponsorship through a dedicated HR or legal team rather than ad hoc. In your recruiter conversation, ask whether Brown and Caldwell works with outside immigration counsel. That signals process maturity and tells you what post-offer coordination will look like.
Find Brown and Caldwell's open roles on Migrate Mate
Search Migrate Mate to browse Senior Software Engineering openings at Brown and Caldwell filtered by visa sponsorship type. It's a faster way to confirm which specific roles are currently active and sponsorship-eligible before you spend time tailoring your application.
Prepare for PERM documentation early if targeting a Green Card
If you're interested in long-term sponsorship, ask during the offer stage whether the role is eligible for PERM-based Green Card sponsorship. DOL's PERM process requires extensive employer documentation, and the earlier you align on intent, the less likely it delays your permanent residency timeline.
Frame your seniority in terms of project ownership
Brown and Caldwell's senior engineering roles typically involve leading technical workstreams on multi-year consulting engagements. Document specific examples where you owned architecture decisions or led cross-functional delivery. USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation criteria, and project leadership evidence strengthens your H-1B petition.

Find Senior Software Engineering at Brown and Caldwell JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Brown and Caldwell sponsor H-1B visas for Senior Software Engineers?
Yes, Brown and Caldwell has a track record of sponsoring H-1B visas for engineering roles, including software positions. Senior Software Engineer roles at the company typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria given the degree requirements and technical complexity involved. Confirm sponsorship availability for a specific opening with the recruiter early in the process.
How do I apply for Senior Software Engineering jobs at Brown and Caldwell?
Applications go through Brown and Caldwell's careers portal, where open Senior Software Engineering roles are listed by location and business unit. You can also browse current sponsorship-eligible openings on Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa type so you can confirm sponsorship availability before applying. Tailoring your resume to environmental or infrastructure consulting workflows improves your chances of moving to a screening call.
Which visa types does Brown and Caldwell commonly use for Senior Software Engineering roles?
Brown and Caldwell sponsors multiple visa categories for software engineering positions, including H-1B, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates. For candidates seeking long-term residency, EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM process is also part of the company's immigration support. J-1 sponsorship is available in select cases.
What qualifications does Brown and Caldwell expect for Senior Software Engineering candidates?
Brown and Caldwell's Senior Software Engineering roles typically require a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field, along with substantial hands-on experience. Given the consulting context, familiarity with water infrastructure, environmental systems, or GIS-related software is a notable advantage. USCIS requires that the role qualify as a specialty occupation, so your degree field should align directly with the technical scope of the position.
How do I time my application around visa filing deadlines at Brown and Caldwell?
For H-1B sponsorship, USCIS accepts cap-subject petitions in April for an October 1 start date, so a late 2025 or early 2026 offer would align well with that cycle. If you're on OPT with a STEM extension, you may have up to 36 months of work authorization, which gives more flexibility. Align your application timeline with Brown and Caldwell's recruiter early so both sides can plan around USCIS filing windows.
