Tailor your resume to clinic operations
ChenMed's Administrative Assistants handle scheduling, patient intake, and care coordination in high-volume primary care settings. Highlight experience with electronic health records, appointment management, or medical office workflows to signal you can step in without a long ramp-up.
Identify clinic locations actively hiring
ChenMed operates clinics across multiple states, and sponsorship decisions are often tied to specific site-level needs. Search by market to find locations posting Administrative Assistant roles consistently, then target your applications there rather than applying broadly.
Ask directly about sponsorship during screening
ChenMed's recruiters handle high application volumes, so surface your visa status early in the process. Confirm whether the specific clinic location and role level are approved for sponsorship before investing time in multiple interview rounds.
Understand how H-1B applies to this role
Administrative Assistant positions can face H-1B scrutiny because USCIS requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation. Frame your application around healthcare-specific functions, relevant coursework, and any credentials that tie your degree directly to the administrative duties at ChenMed.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by visa type
ChenMed posts Administrative Assistant openings frequently across its clinic network. Use Migrate Mate to filter those listings by the visa types you need, so you're only spending time on roles where sponsorship is already confirmed.

Find Administrative Assistant at ChenMed JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does ChenMed sponsor H-1B visas for Administrative Assistants?
ChenMed does sponsor H-1B visas and has done so for Administrative Assistant roles. The key hurdle is demonstrating that the position qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which requires a direct connection between the role's duties and a specific field of study. Roles centered on healthcare administration or medical office operations tend to make the strongest case.
How do I apply for Administrative Assistant jobs at ChenMed?
You can browse and apply for Administrative Assistant openings directly through ChenMed's careers page or through Migrate Mate, which filters ChenMed listings by visa sponsorship type. When applying, note that ChenMed operates a clinic-based model, so each location may have its own hiring timeline. Tailoring your application to the specific clinic and its patient population helps it stand out.
Which visa types does ChenMed commonly use for Administrative Assistant roles?
ChenMed has sponsored H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for roles in this function. F-1 OPT is often the entry point for recent graduates, while H-1B and EB-3 are more common for longer-term placements. TN eligibility applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupational categories.
What qualifications does ChenMed expect for Administrative Assistant positions?
ChenMed's Administrative Assistants typically support clinic operations directly, so experience in a medical office, familiarity with patient scheduling systems, and strong communication skills matter more than a generic administrative background. A degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field strengthens a visa petition and aligns with what ChenMed's clinic managers look for during the hiring process.
How do I time my application to align with ChenMed's sponsorship process?
If you're targeting H-1B sponsorship, ChenMed would need to file your petition during the annual USCIS registration window in March, with an October 1 start date if selected. For OPT, your EAD processing window through USCIS can take up to 90 days, so coordinating your application timeline with your DSO and ChenMed's recruiter well in advance prevents gaps between authorization and your start date.
