Align Your Credentials with ChenMed's Care Model
ChenMed hires Healthcare Assistants to support high-touch, longitudinal care for senior patients. Certifications like CNA or MA, combined with experience in geriatric or primary care settings, directly match what their hiring teams screen for before any visa conversation begins.
Target ChenMed Locations in Underserved Designations
ChenMed operates heavily in Health Professional Shortage Areas. Clinics in these federally designated zones can access cap-exempt H-1B filings, which means sponsorship isn't tied to the annual lottery and can happen year-round for qualifying Healthcare Assistant positions.
Ask Recruiters About Their LCA Filing Process
Before accepting an offer, confirm ChenMed has filed a Labor Condition Application with the DOL for your specific work site and role. The LCA must be certified before your H-1B petition can be submitted, and delays at this step are the most common source of timeline slippage.
Browse Open Roles Before Reaching Out Directly
Map active Healthcare Assistant openings at ChenMed by location and status type using Migrate Mate, then apply to roles already tagged as sponsorship-eligible so your outreach lands in the right pipeline from the start.
Prepare for EB-2 or EB-3 Conversations After Hire
ChenMed sponsors both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for this function. Healthcare workers in clinical support roles typically qualify under EB-3. Ask your HR contact when PERM labor certification typically begins relative to your H-1B approval so you can plan your long-term status timeline.

Find Healthcare Assistant at ChenMed JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does ChenMed sponsor H-1B visas for Healthcare Assistants?
Yes, ChenMed sponsors H-1B visas for Healthcare Assistant roles. Because many ChenMed clinics operate in federally designated Health Professional Shortage Areas, some locations qualify for cap-exempt H-1B filings through USCIS, meaning sponsorship isn't limited to the annual April lottery window. Confirm the designation status of your target location with the recruiter before your offer stage.
How do I apply for Healthcare Assistant jobs at ChenMed?
You can find and apply to Healthcare Assistant openings at ChenMed directly through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can target roles that match your status. When applying, be upfront about your visa category and authorization timeline. ChenMed's recruiting process for clinical support roles typically moves through a phone screen, in-person or virtual interview, and offer within a few weeks.
Which visa types does ChenMed commonly sponsor for Healthcare Assistant roles?
ChenMed sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, EB-2, and EB-3 for Healthcare Assistant positions. F-1 candidates in clinical or health sciences programs can often begin on CPT or OPT before transitioning to H-1B. TN sponsorship is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying healthcare occupations. Both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways have been used for this function, with EB-3 being the more common route for clinical support roles.
What qualifications does ChenMed expect for Healthcare Assistant candidates needing sponsorship?
ChenMed typically looks for candidates with a Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant credential, or a degree in a health-related field. Hands-on experience in primary care, geriatrics, or value-based care settings strengthens your application. For visa sponsorship to be viable under H-1B, your role needs to qualify as a specialty occupation, so a degree component matters more than experience alone at the credential review stage.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process take at ChenMed for this role?
For F-1 OPT candidates, onboarding can happen relatively quickly once an offer is signed, provided your EAD is valid. H-1B cap-subject petitions follow USCIS's fiscal year schedule, with a start date no earlier than October 1. Cap-exempt filings at qualifying ChenMed locations can be submitted year-round, with USCIS standard processing taking several months. Factor in the DOL Labor Condition Application certification step, which typically takes a week or two before the H-1B petition itself is filed.
