Align your credentials to ChenMed's care model
ChenMed's Clinical Assistants work in high-touch, senior-focused primary care environments. Before applying, verify your clinical training covers chronic disease management and direct patient support, since ChenMed's USCIS petitions will cite the specific duties your background must match.
Target ChenMed's high-volume clinic markets
ChenMed operates concentrated clusters of clinics in states like Florida, Ohio, and Georgia. Applying to roles in these markets increases your chances of landing an interview, since staffing needs are highest and hiring cycles are more active in established regions.
Confirm OPT start dates against ChenMed's onboarding timeline
ChenMed's onboarding for clinical roles involves credentialing and compliance checks that can take several weeks. If you're on F-1 OPT, map your authorized employment start date against that lead time so there's no gap in work authorization before your first shift.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Clinical Assistant openings by sponsorship
Browse ChenMed's active Clinical Assistant listings on Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles tied to visa sponsorship categories. This saves time by surfacing only the positions relevant to your authorization status and current work eligibility.
Ask HR directly about LCA wage levels during offer negotiation
ChenMed must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for your clinic's location. During offer discussions, ask which wage level the LCA will be filed at so you understand how your salary is benchmarked.
Prepare for PERM documentation early if targeting a Green Card
If ChenMed pursues an EB-2 or EB-3 pathway for you, the PERM recruitment audit requires records showing no qualified U.S. worker was available. Keep copies of your interview notes, job description, and credentialing documents from day one to support that process later.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does ChenMed sponsor H-1B visas for Clinical Assistants?
Yes, ChenMed sponsors H-1B visas for Clinical Assistant roles. The position needs to qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, meaning the role requires at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant clinical field. ChenMed has a track record of filing H-1B petitions for this function, so it's a viable path for qualified international candidates.
Which visa types does ChenMed commonly sponsor for Clinical Assistants?
ChenMed sponsors several visa categories for Clinical Assistants, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN visa, and employment-based Green Cards under EB-2 and EB-3. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates entering the role, while H-1B and PERM-based Green Card pathways are used for longer-term employment. TN visa is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying clinical occupations.
How do I apply for Clinical Assistant jobs at ChenMed?
You can find and apply for Clinical Assistant positions at ChenMed through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can identify roles suited to your immigration status. ChenMed's hiring process typically includes an initial screening call, a panel interview with clinical leadership, and a credentialing review before an offer is extended.
What qualifications does ChenMed expect for Clinical Assistant roles?
ChenMed's Clinical Assistants typically need a relevant clinical credential or degree, such as a medical assistant certification or a healthcare-related bachelor's degree. Because ChenMed serves seniors with complex chronic conditions, hands-on patient care experience is weighted heavily in hiring decisions. Bilingual skills are a practical advantage in many of ChenMed's clinic markets.
How do I plan my timeline if ChenMed agrees to sponsor my H-1B?
H-1B cap-subject petitions can only be filed after the annual USCIS lottery, with employment starting no earlier than October 1 of that fiscal year. If you're selected, coordinate with ChenMed's HR team on premium processing to reduce approval wait times. Build in several weeks for credentialing and compliance checks on top of USCIS processing before your actual start date.
