Verify Your Clinical Credentials Match State Requirements
Minnesota requires specific certifications for clinical support roles. Before applying, confirm your credentials, such as a CNA or medical assistant certification, meet Minnesota Department of Health standards, since Fairview will need these verified before extending an offer.
Target Roles That List Direct Patient Care
Fairview posts Clinical Assistant openings across inpatient units, ambulatory clinics, and specialty departments. Roles with direct patient care language are more likely to justify H-1B or TN sponsorship, since they anchor the specialty occupation or qualifying profession argument more clearly.
Clarify Sponsorship Willingness Before the Final Interview
Fairview's hiring process for clinical support roles can move quickly. Ask your recruiter directly which visa types the specific department has approved for sponsorship, because not every hiring manager has the same authority to commit to filing costs.
Browse Fairview Openings on Migrate Mate
Fairview lists Clinical Assistant openings across multiple locations and departments at different times. Use Migrate Mate to filter for open roles with confirmed sponsorship support so you are not applying blindly to positions that will not move forward for international candidates.
Prepare a PERM-Ready Employment History Early
If Fairview pursues an EB-2 or EB-3 green card pathway for your role, DOL requires a detailed work history audit during the PERM labor certification process. Gather official employment records, reference letters, and degree evaluations before your first day so you are not scrambling later.

Find Clinical Assistant at Fairview Health Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Fairview Health Services sponsor H-1B visas for Clinical Assistants?
Yes, Fairview Health Services has sponsored H-1B visas for clinical support roles. Whether a specific Clinical Assistant position qualifies depends on the role's duties and degree requirements, since H-1B eligibility requires a specialty occupation. Positions with a defined clinical scope and a required bachelor's degree or equivalent are the strongest candidates for H-1B sponsorship.
How do I apply for Clinical Assistant jobs at Fairview Health Services?
You can find and apply for Clinical Assistant openings through Fairview's careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which aggregates Fairview roles with visa sponsorship context. Before applying, confirm the position aligns with your credential level and immigration status. Reaching out to the recruiter early to clarify sponsorship availability can save significant time before offers are extended.
Which visa types does Fairview Health Services commonly use for Clinical Assistant roles?
Fairview has supported H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for clinical positions. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying healthcare occupations. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates entering clinical support roles before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship.
What qualifications does Fairview Health Services expect for Clinical Assistant positions?
Most Clinical Assistant roles at Fairview require a high school diploma or equivalent at minimum, with preference for a certified nursing assistant credential, medical assistant certification, or relevant healthcare degree. Roles tied to specialty units or requiring H-1B eligibility typically expect a bachelor's degree in a health sciences field. Clinical or patient care experience strengthens your application significantly.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process typically take at Fairview Health Services?
From offer to work authorization, timelines vary by visa type. H-1B sponsorship follows USCIS's April lottery and October 1 start date, meaning you may wait six months or longer after an offer. TN status for Canadian nationals can be obtained at the border and is faster. OPT-to-H-1B transitions require careful Cap-Gap planning to avoid gaps in employment authorization.
