Align Your Credentials with Minnesota Licensure Requirements
Fairview operates primarily in Minnesota, so confirm your professional license is valid or transferable there before applying. State licensing boards have their own timelines, and delays can hold up your start date even after an offer is signed.
Target Roles Fairview Fills Repeatedly
Fairview consistently hires for clinical roles like registered nurses, physical therapists, and care coordinators. Focusing your applications on these recurring functions puts you in front of hiring managers who already understand international candidate workflows and sponsorship paperwork.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Active Openings
Healthcare sponsorship roles at large health systems get filled quickly and aren't always easy to track. Use Migrate Mate to filter Fairview's open positions by visa type so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already on the table.
Clarify OPT or TN Status Early in Conversations
If you're on F-1 OPT or TN status, tell your recruiter before the first interview. Fairview's HR teams need time to confirm whether a role qualifies for your current authorization, especially for clinical positions with specific licensing requirements that affect eligibility.
Understand the PERM Timeline Before Accepting an Offer
For Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3, Fairview must complete PERM labor certification through DOL before filing the immigrant petition. That process alone can take a year or more, so factor that into any long-term status planning before you sign.
Prepare Documentation That Matches USCIS Specialty Occupation Standards
For H-1B petitions, USCIS requires evidence that your healthcare role is a specialty occupation tied to a specific degree field. Gather transcripts, license documentation, and a detailed job description that explicitly links your duties to your degree before your employer files.

Find Healthcare at Fairview Health Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Fairview Health Services sponsor H-1B visas for Healthcares?
Yes, Fairview Health Services sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying healthcare roles. Eligible positions must meet USCIS specialty occupation requirements, meaning the role must typically require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field directly related to the job duties. Clinical and specialized allied health roles tend to fit this standard most cleanly. Confirming the fit between your degree, your license, and the specific role description is the most important step before applying.
How do I apply for Healthcare jobs at Fairview Health Services?
Applications go through Fairview's careers portal, where roles are posted by department and location across their Minnesota network. You can also browse Fairview's open healthcare positions filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to identify which roles are realistic targets based on your current immigration status. Tailoring your application to the specific clinical function and including your licensure status upfront helps your profile move faster through their screening process.
Which visa types does Fairview Health Services commonly use for Healthcare roles?
Fairview sponsors H-1B visas for specialty occupation healthcare roles and supports Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 classifications for longer-term employment. F-1 OPT and CPT are options for recent graduates in eligible healthcare fields, and TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories such as physical therapists, medical technologists, and certain nursing roles defined under USMCA.
What qualifications does Fairview Health Services expect for Healthcare roles?
Requirements vary by role, but most clinical positions require an active state professional license in Minnesota, a relevant degree in a healthcare discipline, and demonstrated clinical or patient-facing experience. Allied health and care coordination roles often require additional certifications tied to the specific function. For international candidates, having your foreign credentials evaluated for U.S. equivalency before applying can remove a common bottleneck in the screening process.
How do I time my application around H-1B cap deadlines as a Healthcare candidate?
The H-1B cap lottery registration window typically opens in March, with a filing window from April through June if selected. If you're on F-1 OPT, your work authorization needs to cover you through October 1, when the new H-1B fiscal year begins. Targeting Fairview roles in the fall or winter before the registration period gives your employer enough runway to prepare the petition, complete the prevailing wage determination, and file without rushing.
