Verify Your Clinical Credentials Match Minnesota Requirements
Healthcare Assistant roles at Fairview often require state-recognized certifications like a Nursing Assistant certificate or BLS certification. Confirm your credentials are valid in Minnesota before applying, as licensing gaps can delay or derail a sponsorship offer.
Target Fairview Facilities with High Patient Volume
Fairview operates hospitals, clinics, and long-term care sites across the Twin Cities metro. High-volume facilities like University of Minnesota Medical Center tend to post Healthcare Assistant openings more consistently, giving you more entry points to secure a sponsoring offer.
Align Your OPT or CPT Start Date with Shift Availability
Healthcare Assistants typically work rotating or weekend shifts. When discussing F-1 OPT authorization with your employer, confirm your authorized employment start date aligns with Fairview's scheduling cycles to avoid a gap that could jeopardize your status.
Understand the PERM Timeline Before Accepting EB-3 Sponsorship
If Fairview offers EB-3 sponsorship, DOL PERM labor certification adds months to the process before USCIS ever sees your petition. Ask HR whether they use an in-house immigration team or outside counsel, since processing speed can vary significantly between facilities.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Open Healthcare Assistant Roles
Fairview posts Healthcare Assistant openings across multiple facilities simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to filter these roles by visa type so you're only applying to positions where your specific sponsorship need, H-1B, TN, or OPT, is already supported by the hiring team.
Prepare Your TN Documentation Before Your Offer Letter Arrives
TN visa applicants in healthcare need a support letter from Fairview confirming the role qualifies under USMCA professional categories. Request this documentation from HR early because delays in getting employer letters are the most common TN bottleneck at the border or port of entry.

Find Healthcare Assistant at Fairview Health Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Fairview Health Services sponsor H-1B visas for Healthcare Assistants?
Yes, Fairview Health Services has sponsored H-1B visas for Healthcare Assistant roles. Because H-1B sponsorship requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, you'll need to demonstrate that your role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Clinical support roles with defined educational prerequisites are the most straightforward fit. Confirm the specific position's requirements with Fairview's HR or immigration team before applying.
Which visa types are commonly used for Healthcare Assistant roles at Fairview Health Services?
Fairview Health Services supports several visa pathways for Healthcare Assistants, including H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card sponsorship. F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates in clinical programs. TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying healthcare occupations. EB-3 is the most typical immigrant visa pathway for long-term sponsorship in clinical support roles.
How do I apply for Healthcare Assistant jobs at Fairview Health Services?
You can browse and apply for Healthcare Assistant openings at Fairview Health Services through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can find positions that match your work authorization situation. When applying directly, tailor your application to the specific facility and shift type listed. Fairview's hiring process typically includes a phone screen, an in-person or virtual interview, and a background and credential verification stage before an offer is extended.
What qualifications does Fairview Health Services expect for Healthcare Assistant roles?
Most Healthcare Assistant positions at Fairview require a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate or equivalent credential recognized in Minnesota, along with Basic Life Support certification. Some roles, particularly those in hospital settings, also expect prior acute care or clinical floor experience. International applicants should verify that any foreign-issued credentials have been evaluated for U.S. equivalency before submitting an application, as unverified credentials are a common point of delay.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for Healthcare Assistants at Fairview?
Timeline depends heavily on visa type. F-1 OPT authorization can be in place within a few weeks of your program end date if your I-20 is updated promptly. H-1B sponsorship is subject to USCIS processing, with standard timelines running several months outside of the annual April lottery window. EB-3 Green Card sponsorship involves DOL PERM labor certification first, which can add six months or more before USCIS adjudication begins. Premium processing is available for H-1B petitions if faster adjudication is needed.
