Align Your Credentials with Georgia Requirements
Georgia requires Healthcare Assistants to meet specific certification standards depending on the care setting. Verify your credentials against state requirements before applying, since Emory's credentialing team will confirm compliance before extending an offer to a sponsored candidate.
Target Emory's High-Volume Clinical Departments
Emory Healthcare's largest hiring volumes for Healthcare Assistants tend to concentrate in hospital-based units like medical-surgical, emergency, and long-term care. Focusing your applications on these departments improves your odds of landing a role structured for sponsorship.
Clarify Sponsorship Scope Before Your Interview
Not every Healthcare Assistant opening at Emory is pre-approved for visa sponsorship. Ask the recruiter directly which visa types the role supports and whether the position qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines if you're pursuing H-1B status.
Understand OPT Timing for Healthcare Roles
F-1 students on OPT must ensure their authorized employment category matches the Healthcare Assistant role's SOC code. Start your OPT application at least 90 days before your program end date to avoid a gap in work authorization during Emory's onboarding process.
Prepare for PERM Labor Market Compliance Early
If you're pursuing EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, Emory's HR team must complete a DOL PERM recruitment process showing no qualified U.S. workers were available. This can take a year or more, so discuss timelines with your hiring manager well before your current status expires.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Roles Efficiently
Filtering for Healthcare Assistant openings at sponsoring employers manually is time-consuming. Use Migrate Mate to surface Emory Healthcare roles that align with your visa type, so you're applying only where sponsorship is a realistic outcome from the start.

Find Healthcare Assistant at Emory Healthcare JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Emory Healthcare sponsor H-1B visas for Healthcare Assistants?
Emory Healthcare does sponsor H-1B visas, and Healthcare Assistant roles are among the positions where sponsorship has been extended to international candidates. However, H-1B eligibility depends on whether the specific role qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field. Confirm the qualification threshold with your recruiter before applying.
How do I apply for Healthcare Assistant jobs at Emory Healthcare?
Applications go through Emory Healthcare's careers portal. Search by role title and filter by location across their hospital and clinic network. If you need visa sponsorship, look for postings that explicitly mention sponsorship eligibility, or confirm sponsorship availability with the recruiter after you apply. Migrate Mate can help you identify which open Healthcare Assistant roles at Emory align with your specific visa type before you apply.
Which visa types does Emory Healthcare commonly use for Healthcare Assistant roles?
Emory Healthcare has sponsored Healthcare Assistants under H-1B, TN, J-1, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3. The right visa depends on your nationality, degree, and career stage. TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying healthcare occupations, while EB-3 is common for longer-term sponsorship in clinical support roles.
What qualifications does Emory Healthcare expect for Healthcare Assistant positions?
Most Healthcare Assistant roles at Emory require a high school diploma or GED at minimum, with preference for candidates who hold a Certified Nursing Assistant credential or have completed a healthcare-related certificate program. Clinical experience in an acute care or long-term care setting strengthens your application. Roles in specialized units may require additional certifications such as Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association.
How do I plan my visa timeline when pursuing a Healthcare Assistant role at Emory Healthcare?
Timeline planning depends on your current visa status. F-1 OPT candidates should confirm their work authorization covers Emory's onboarding window, which can run four to eight weeks after an offer. H-1B cap-subject candidates must account for the annual lottery cycle, with cap-exempt options potentially available through Emory's academic affiliates. For PERM-based Green Card sponsorship, expect the full process to span one to three years depending on your priority date and country of birth.
