Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Registered Nurse Jobs at Emory Healthcare Jobs
Get your NCLEX and credentials verified early
Emory requires active RN licensure in Georgia before you can start. Begin your CGFNS credential evaluation and NCLEX registration well ahead of your job search so licensure delays don't stall an offer that's already in hand.
Target Emory's high-volume specialty units
Emory consistently hires for critical care, perioperative, and oncology nursing. Applying to units with ongoing openings improves your odds of reaching a hiring manager who has navigated visa sponsorship for RNs before and knows what's involved.
Clarify sponsorship intent before accepting an offer
Large health systems can move slowly on sponsorship decisions after an offer is extended. Ask directly during the offer stage which visa type Emory's HR team plans to file and whether they use in-house immigration counsel or an outside firm.
Understand how EB-3 sponsorship affects your timeline
For many internationally trained nurses, EB-3 is the long-term path. PERM labor certification and priority date backlogs can stretch several years depending on your country of birth, so starting conversations with Emory's HR about immigrant visa intent early matters.
Use Migrate Mate to find active Registered Nurse openings at Emory
Emory's nursing openings shift frequently across facilities. Migrate Mate filters active RN roles by visa sponsorship type so you can identify which positions align with your H-1B, TN, or OPT status before applying.
Know your grace period if you're between roles
If you're switching to Emory from another employer on H-1B status, USCIS allows a 60-day grace period after your previous employment ends. File the H-1B transfer petition before that window closes to maintain continuous work authorization.

Find Registered Nurse at Emory Healthcare JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Emory Healthcare sponsor H-1B visas for Registered Nurses?
Yes, Emory Healthcare has a documented history of sponsoring H-1B visas for Registered Nurses. Because nursing roles typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring at minimum a bachelor's degree in nursing, they meet the foundational H-1B criteria. Sponsorship decisions are made at the department and HR level, so confirming intent early in the offer process is the right move.
How do I apply for Registered Nurse jobs at Emory Healthcare?
Applications go through Emory Healthcare's careers portal, where RN positions are listed by unit and facility across the Atlanta system. You can also browse active Registered Nurse roles at Emory filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to identify positions where sponsorship has been offered before submitting your application.
Which visa types does Emory Healthcare commonly use for Registered Nurses?
Emory has sponsored Registered Nurses on H-1B, TN (for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying nursing roles), J-1 (for exchange visitor programs), F-1 OPT and CPT, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. EB-3 is the most common long-term route for internationally trained nurses, given that PERM labor certification is available to large hospital employers like Emory.
What qualifications does Emory Healthcare expect from Registered Nurse candidates?
Emory requires an active Georgia RN license or eligibility for endorsement, which means passing the NCLEX-RN. Most positions also require a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, particularly for specialty units. Internationally trained nurses typically need a credential evaluation through CGFNS or an equivalent body to confirm that their foreign nursing degree meets U.S. equivalency standards before Emory can process a visa petition.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Registered Nurse at Emory Healthcare?
For H-1B transfers or new filings, standard USCIS processing runs three to six months, though premium processing can reduce that to a few weeks. EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM is a multi-year process, with PERM labor certification alone taking six to twelve months before USCIS petition filing even begins. Starting the conversation with Emory's HR team about immigrant visa intent as early as possible gives you the most accurate timeline for your situation.
