Verify Your ARRT Credentials Before Applying
Emory Healthcare expects active ARRT certification in Computed Tomography before extending an offer. Confirm your credentials are current and your state licensure is transferable to Georgia, since credential gaps can stall an offer and delay any visa filing timeline.
Target Emory's High-Volume Imaging Facilities
Emory runs multiple hospital campuses and outpatient imaging centers across metro Atlanta. Applying to postings tied to Emory University Hospital or Emory Decatur puts you in front of departments that hire CT Techs on a recurring, not one-off, basis.
Ask About Sponsorship Scope During the Interview
Emory sponsors multiple visa categories for imaging roles, including H-1B and TN. Ask the recruiter directly which visa type they intend to file for your role so you know whether a cap-subject petition or a Treaty National path applies to your situation.
Understand the H-1B Cap Timeline for Healthcare Roles
Cap-subject H-1B registrations open in March for an October 1 start. If your OPT or J-1 status expires before October, confirm with Emory's HR team whether cap-gap protection or a bridge arrangement is available to keep you work-authorized during the gap.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open CT Tech Roles at Emory
Search Migrate Mate to filter CT Tech openings at Emory Healthcare by visa type. This saves time identifying which postings are actively tied to sponsorship-eligible positions rather than scanning general job boards where sponsorship status is unclear.
Confirm PERM Labor Certification Plans for Green Card Sponsorship
If Emory offers EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, the process starts with a PERM labor certification filed through the DOL, which typically takes 12 to 18 months before an I-140 petition can be submitted. Clarify whether this is included in your offer before signing.

Does Emory Healthcare sponsor H-1B visas for CT Techs?
Yes, Emory Healthcare sponsors H-1B visas for CT Tech roles. Because H-1B is a cap-subject visa, your employer must submit a registration during the March lottery window for an October 1 start date. Emory's HR and immigration team typically coordinates this process, but you should confirm the timeline and any employer requirements during the offer stage.
How do I apply for CT Tech jobs at Emory Healthcare?
Applications go through Emory Healthcare's careers portal. Filter by department or keyword for CT Technologist or Computed Tomography roles. You can also browse current openings on Migrate Mate, which filters Emory's postings by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can quickly identify which roles align with your authorization needs before applying.
Which visa types does Emory Healthcare commonly use for CT Tech roles?
Emory supports several visa categories for CT Tech positions, including H-1B for specialty occupation workers, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying healthcare roles, J-1 for exchange visitors in clinical settings, and F-1 OPT or CPT for recent graduates. For permanent residence, Emory has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card petitions for imaging professionals.
What qualifications does Emory Healthcare expect for CT Tech positions?
Emory expects ARRT certification in Radiography with an advanced credential in Computed Tomography, along with active Georgia licensure or eligibility. Most postings require at least one year of clinical CT experience. Candidates with experience in high-volume trauma or academic medical center environments tend to be competitive given the complexity of Emory's patient population.
How long does the visa sponsorship process typically take for a CT Tech hired at Emory?
Timeline depends on visa type. TN status for Canadian nationals can be obtained at the port of entry within days. H-1B processing runs three to six months with USCIS standard processing, or two to four weeks with premium processing. EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card sponsorship involves DOL PERM labor certification plus USCIS petition filing, which combined can take two years or more.
