Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Oncology Registered Nurse Jobs at Emory Healthcare Jobs
Get your NCLEX and credentials verified early
Before applying, confirm your nursing license is valid in Georgia and your foreign credentials are evaluated by a NACES-approved body. Emory's credentialing process runs parallel to any visa filing, and delays here can push back your start date significantly.
Target Emory's dedicated oncology units directly
Emory Healthcare runs specialized cancer programs including the Winship Cancer Institute. Applying to roles tied to these units increases your visibility with hiring managers who recruit internationally and are familiar with sponsorship workflows for nursing staff.
Understand which visa fits your nursing background
Registered Nurses at Emory are commonly sponsored through H-1B, TN (for Canadian and Mexican nationals), or EB-3 immigrant visa pathways. Each has different eligibility criteria, processing timelines, and employer cost structures, so knowing which applies to you before the offer stage avoids surprises.
Ask about PERM labor certification timing upfront
If Emory extends a Green Card sponsorship offer through EB-3, the PERM process with DOL adds months to the overall timeline. Raise this in your offer negotiation so both sides align on start dates and employment authorization gaps are planned for.
Browse open oncology nursing roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Oncology Registered Nurse openings at Emory Healthcare by visa type. This lets you focus your applications on roles where sponsorship is explicitly available rather than guessing from generic job board listings.
Prepare documentation for your H-1B specialty occupation case
For H-1B sponsorship, USCIS requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation. Gather your degree transcripts, nursing license, and any oncology certifications like OCN before Emory's HR team initiates the I-129 petition to avoid back-and-forth delays.

Does Emory Healthcare sponsor H-1B visas for Oncology Registered Nurses?
Yes, Emory Healthcare sponsors H-1B visas for Oncology Registered Nurses. The role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS criteria given the degree requirements in nursing. Your employer initiates the petition by filing an I-129 with USCIS, but you'll need a valid Georgia nursing license and certified credentials before that process can begin.
How do I apply for Oncology Registered Nurse jobs at Emory Healthcare?
Applications go through Emory Healthcare's careers portal at emoryhealthcare.org. Search for oncology nursing roles and filter by unit or location. If you need visa sponsorship, you can also browse open positions on Migrate Mate, which surfaces Emory roles where employer sponsorship is available so you're not applying blind.
Which visa types does Emory Healthcare use for Oncology Registered Nurse sponsorship?
Emory sponsors Oncology Registered Nurses through several pathways including H-1B, TN (for Canadian and Mexican citizens), J-1 for exchange visitors, and immigrant visa categories like EB-2 and EB-3 for permanent residence. F-1 OPT and CPT can also apply for nurses who recently completed a U.S. nursing program and are in their authorized work period.
What qualifications does Emory Healthcare expect for Oncology Registered Nurse roles?
Emory typically requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), an active Georgia RN license, and BLS certification. For oncology-specific positions, an OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) credential or relevant acute care experience in oncology or hematology is often expected. Roles in higher-acuity units at Winship Cancer Institute may require additional experience in chemotherapy administration or bone marrow transplant care.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a nursing role at Emory Healthcare?
Timeline depends on the visa type. H-1B standard processing runs several months, while premium processing with USCIS can return a decision in about 15 business days. TN status for Canadian nationals can be obtained at the border in a single day. EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM involves DOL labor certification first, which typically adds six months to over a year before USCIS adjudication begins.
