Verify Your Nursing License Before Applying
ChenMed operates across multiple states, so confirm your RN license is valid in the specific state where the role is posted. Some states require NCLEX passage plus a separate endorsement process, which can delay your start date and affect visa filing timelines.
Target ChenMed Centers in High-Demand Markets
ChenMed concentrates its clinics in underserved senior communities across the Southeast, Midwest, and Mid-Atlantic. Roles in these areas often have longer-term staffing needs, which strengthens the case for employer-sponsored immigrant visa pathways like EB-2 or EB-3.
Understand the EB-3 PERM Timeline for Nursing Roles
Clinical Nurse roles at ChenMed can support EB-3 sponsorship, but PERM labor certification through DOL typically takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS even begins adjudicating your I-140. Factor this into your long-term immigration planning from your first day on the job.
Clarify Sponsorship Scope During the Offer Stage
ChenMed sponsors multiple visa types, but coverage varies by role level and clinic location. Before signing, confirm in writing whether your offer includes H-1B filing fees, Green Card sponsorship, and whether premium processing is available for time-sensitive situations like OPT expiration.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Clinical Nurse Roles
Filtering for Clinical Nurse openings at employers with a verified sponsorship history saves significant time. Use Migrate Mate to identify ChenMed postings that align with your visa type, so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already part of the hiring process.
Prepare Your Credential Evaluation Before Interviews
If your nursing degree is from outside the United States, USCIS requires a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved organization for H-1B and EB-3 petitions. Having this completed before your first interview signals readiness and removes a common bottleneck in ChenMed's hiring timeline.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does ChenMed sponsor H-1B visas for Clinical Nurses?
Yes, ChenMed sponsors H-1B visas for Clinical Nurse roles. Nursing positions that require a bachelor's degree in nursing and a state RN license generally qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards. If you're currently on OPT or a prior H-1B and have an offer from ChenMed, the company can file a new H-1B petition on your behalf, subject to cap availability or cap-exempt status depending on the clinic's affiliation.
How do I apply for Clinical Nurse jobs at ChenMed?
You can find open Clinical Nurse positions at ChenMed through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles with confirmed visa sponsorship. Applications typically require an updated resume, active RN license details, and availability by state. ChenMed's hiring process usually includes a phone screen, a panel interview with clinical leadership, and a background and credential check before an offer is extended.
Which visa types does ChenMed commonly sponsor for Clinical Nurses?
ChenMed sponsors a range of visa types for Clinical Nurses, including H-1B, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT and CPT for students completing nursing programs, and immigrant visa pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term permanent residence. The EB-3 category is particularly common for registered nurses, as nursing is recognized as a professional occupation requiring a qualifying degree under DOL guidelines.
What qualifications does ChenMed expect for Clinical Nurse candidates?
ChenMed typically requires an active RN license in the state of employment, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) for most sponsored roles, and experience in primary care, geriatrics, or chronic disease management. Given the patient population ChenMed serves, familiarity with Medicare Advantage care models and electronic health records is a practical advantage during interviews. Foreign-educated nurses will also need a NACES-approved credential evaluation for visa filings.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Clinical Nurse role at ChenMed?
Timeline depends on the visa type. H-1B standard processing through USCIS takes three to six months; premium processing can reduce adjudication to 15 business days. TN visas for Canadian nationals can be obtained at the border with same-day processing. EB-3 Green Card sponsorship is a multi-year process, beginning with PERM labor certification at DOL, which alone takes 12 to 18 months before the I-140 petition stage begins.
