Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Clinical Nurse Jobs at MyMichigan Health Jobs
Verify Your NCLEX and State Licensure First
Michigan requires an active RN license before MyMichigan Health can file a visa petition on your behalf. Confirm your NCLEX pass status and initiate your Michigan Board of Nursing license application before reaching out to recruiters.
Target Unit-Specific Postings Not Just General Listings
MyMichigan Health consistently posts Clinical Nurse openings across specialties like med-surg, ICU, and behavioral health. Filtering by unit type surfaces roles with the most active hiring cycles and improves your odds of reaching a recruiter who can move quickly.
Ask Recruiters About Their H-1B Filing Window
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start. When you receive an offer, ask the HR team directly where they are in the USCIS filing cycle so you can plan your start date and status transitions accordingly.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Open Clinical Nurse Roles
Searching for sponsoring employers manually is slow and unreliable. Use Migrate Mate to filter Clinical Nurse openings at health systems like MyMichigan Health that have a documented history of sponsoring international nurses.
Align Your Resume to U.S. Clinical Documentation Standards
MyMichigan Health uses electronic health records in its facilities. Highlight any EHR experience, particularly Epic or Cerner, and frame your clinical experience around patient ratios, acuity levels, and care outcomes rather than job duties alone.
Clarify OPT or TN Status Before the Offer Stage
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your STEM extension eligibility and remaining authorized period with your DSO before the offer is finalized. For Canadian or Mexican nurses, TN status requires proof of a qualifying nursing credential recognized under USMCA.

Find Clinical Nurse at MyMichigan Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does MyMichigan Health sponsor H-1B visas for Clinical Nurses?
Yes. MyMichigan Health has sponsored H-1B visas for Clinical Nurses and is an established sponsoring employer in the healthcare sector. Sponsorship is tied to open headcount and is not guaranteed for every posting, so confirming visa support directly with HR during the application process is the right move before investing significant time.
How do I apply for Clinical Nurse jobs at MyMichigan Health?
Applications go through MyMichigan Health's careers portal, where postings are listed by unit and location across their Michigan facilities. You can also browse open Clinical Nurse roles at MyMichigan Health through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for positions at employers with a history of sponsoring international nurses, saving you time on manual research.
Which visa types does MyMichigan Health use to sponsor Clinical Nurses?
MyMichigan Health has sponsored Clinical Nurses through H-1B and TN visas, and has also worked with candidates on F-1 OPT and CPT. H-1B is the most common long-term pathway for nurses who plan to remain in the U.S. indefinitely. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals with qualifying nursing credentials under USMCA.
What qualifications does MyMichigan Health expect for Clinical Nurse candidates?
MyMichigan Health requires an active Michigan RN license and NCLEX passage for all Clinical Nurse roles. Most unit postings also expect BLS certification, with ACLS required for critical care or emergency settings. Prior experience in a U.S. or equivalent clinical environment is strongly preferred, and familiarity with electronic health record systems is an advantage in the screening process.
How do I understand the visa sponsorship timeline for a Clinical Nurse role at MyMichigan Health?
Timeline depends on which visa pathway applies. H-1B sponsorship follows USCIS's April 1 filing deadline and October 1 start date cycle, so offers made in late fall or winter for the following cap year are common. TN status can be obtained at the border or a U.S. port of entry and has no annual cap, making it faster for eligible candidates. Confirm timing with HR after an offer is extended.
