Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Physician Assistant Jobs at MyMichigan Health Jobs
Verify Your NCCPA Certification Before Applying
MyMichigan Health requires current NCCPA certification for all PA roles. Get your certificate of completion and transcript from your PA program ready early, as these feed directly into both your credentialing packet and any USCIS petition your employer will file.
Target MyMichigan's Specialty PA Openings Strategically
MyMichigan consistently posts PA openings across specialties like surgery, urgent care, and hospital medicine. Roles in high-need service lines tend to move faster to offer stage, which shortens the window between interview and visa filing initiation.
Clarify Sponsorship Intentions During the Interview
Ask directly whether the specific hiring department has sponsored international PA candidates before. Physician Assistant sponsorship decisions at regional health systems are often made at the department or service line level, not centrally, so the answer can vary by role.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter PA Roles by Sponsorship History
Search for Physician Assistant openings at MyMichigan Health on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles based on verified visa sponsorship activity. This saves time by focusing your applications on positions where sponsorship is a documented practice.
Understand TN Eligibility If You Hold Canadian or Mexican Citizenship
Physician Assistant is a qualifying occupation under the TN visa category. If you're a Canadian or Mexican citizen, a TN can be approved at the port of entry with your employment letter and NCCPA certification, bypassing USCIS processing times entirely.
Align Your Timeline With H-1B Cap and Filing Windows
If you need an H-1B and are cap-subject, your start date at MyMichigan Health must align with the October 1 fiscal year start. Confirm this with your recruiter early so the offer letter and I-129 petition are structured to meet the April registration window.

Does MyMichigan Health sponsor H-1B visas for Physician Assistants?
Yes, MyMichigan Health has an active history of sponsoring H-1B visas for Physician Assistants. The process involves the employer filing a Labor Condition Application with the DOL and then an I-129 petition with USCIS. Sponsorship availability can vary by department, so confirming directly with your recruiter during the hiring process is the most reliable approach.
How do I apply for Physician Assistant jobs at MyMichigan Health?
Applications go through MyMichigan Health's careers portal, where PA positions are listed by department and location. You can also browse open Physician Assistant roles at MyMichigan Health filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which helps you prioritize positions where international candidates have been sponsored before.
Which visa types does MyMichigan Health commonly use for Physician Assistants?
MyMichigan Health supports H-1B sponsorship for most international PA hires. Candidates from Canada or Mexico may qualify for TN status, which is faster and doesn't require a lottery. Recent graduates on F-1 OPT or CPT can also work with MyMichigan while a longer-term visa petition is prepared, provided timelines are managed carefully.
What qualifications does MyMichigan Health expect from Physician Assistant candidates?
MyMichigan Health requires a master's degree from an ARC-PA accredited PA program and current NCCPA certification. State licensure or eligibility in Michigan is also required before you can start. For specialty roles, prior clinical experience in the relevant service line strengthens your application significantly and can accelerate the hiring and sponsorship decision.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship for a PA role at MyMichigan Health?
Timeline depends heavily on your visa type. TN status can be obtained same-day at the border for eligible candidates. H-1B petitions for cap-subject applicants must be registered in April for an October 1 start. If you're on F-1 OPT, your authorization period sets a hard deadline, so engaging MyMichigan Health's HR team on sponsorship timing early in the offer process is essential.
