Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Physical Therapist Jobs at MyMichigan Health Jobs
Verify Your PT License Before Applying
Michigan requires an active state PT license before you can practice. Start the Michigan Board of Physical Therapy application early, foreign-trained applicants often face credential evaluation delays that can push back your start date and complicate visa timing.
Target MyMichigan's Outpatient and Rehab Openings
MyMichigan Health posts Physical Therapist roles across hospital-based and outpatient rehab settings. Outpatient positions often have more schedule flexibility, which can be relevant when coordinating OPT extension or H-1B cap-subject filing deadlines with your employer.
Confirm Sponsorship Willingness in the Initial Screen
Ask directly during your recruiter phone screen whether the specific hiring department has sponsored this role before. MyMichigan Health is a regional health system, so sponsorship decisions can vary by facility and department, not just at the corporate HR level.
Understand TN Status for Canadian and Mexican PTs
Physical Therapy is a listed TN profession under USMCA. If you hold a Canadian or Mexican passport, TN status is faster and avoids the H-1B lottery entirely. Confirm with your hiring contact that the job description aligns with the TN occupational category before the offer stage.
Build Your PT Resume Around Clinical Hours and Settings
MyMichigan Health serves a largely rural and suburban Michigan patient population. Highlighting acute care, orthopedic, or neuro rehab clinical hours in your resume signals a direct match to their patient volume and case mix, which strengthens your candidacy before sponsorship conversations begin.
Find and Track Open Roles Using Migrate Mate
Search for Physical Therapist openings at MyMichigan Health on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for visa-sponsoring employers in healthcare. You can monitor new postings and focus your applications on roles where sponsorship has been documented.

Find Physical Therapist at MyMichigan Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does MyMichigan Health sponsor H-1B visas for Physical Therapists?
Yes, MyMichigan Health has sponsored H-1B visas for Physical Therapist roles. As a healthcare employer with ongoing hiring needs in physical therapy, they have engaged in the H-1B process for this function. Because H-1B sponsorship is employer-initiated, confirm the willingness of the specific department and facility during your recruiter conversation, not just with corporate HR.
How do I apply for Physical Therapist jobs at MyMichigan Health?
You can browse and apply for Physical Therapist openings at MyMichigan Health through Migrate Mate, which lists roles at employers with documented visa sponsorship history. Before applying, ensure your Michigan PT license is active or in process, and prepare to discuss your visa status and timeline in the initial recruiter screen, as this affects onboarding planning.
Which visa types does MyMichigan Health commonly use for Physical Therapist roles?
MyMichigan Health has sponsored H-1B visas for Physical Therapists and accepts candidates on F-1 OPT and CPT. Canadian and Mexican nationals may also be eligible for TN status, since Physical Therapy is a qualifying USMCA profession. TN is worth prioritizing if you hold one of those passports, as it bypasses the H-1B lottery entirely.
What qualifications does MyMichigan Health expect for Physical Therapist candidates?
MyMichigan Health expects candidates to hold a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree and an active Michigan PT license, or proof that licensure is in progress. Clinical experience in acute care, orthopedic, or rehabilitation settings is valued given their regional hospital and outpatient network. Foreign-trained applicants should complete a FCCPT or equivalent credential evaluation before applying.
How do I time my H-1B filing if I receive an offer from MyMichigan Health on OPT?
If you're on F-1 OPT, your employer must file your H-1B petition by April 1 for the October 1 start date. USCIS requires registration in March for the lottery. If your OPT expires before October 1, a timely-filed H-1B petition triggers a cap-gap extension that covers the gap automatically. Coordinate your anticipated license date and start date with your HR contact early to ensure the filing window is met.
