Verify Your Credential Evaluation Before Applying
If you completed your physical therapy degree outside the U.S., get a credentials evaluation from FCCPT before submitting applications. Memorial Hermann and most Texas hospitals require this ahead of state licensure, and delays here stall your entire timeline.
Target Memorial Hermann's Outpatient Rehab Openings
Memorial Hermann runs a large outpatient rehabilitation network alongside its hospital system. Outpatient PT roles often have more scheduling predictability and faster hiring cycles, which matters when your OPT or TN authorization has a hard expiration date.
Confirm Texas PT Licensure Status Before Your Interview
Texas requires an active PT license before you can practice. Memorial Hermann's HR team will ask about licensure status early in the process. Sitting for the NPTE and confirming your Texas PT Compact eligibility before your first interview removes a common bottleneck.
Ask Specifically About H-1B Filing Timelines During Negotiations
When you reach the offer stage, ask your recruiter directly whether Memorial Hermann files H-1B petitions in the regular cap or premium processing window. Health systems sometimes miss USCIS cap-season deadlines if internal approval processes move slowly.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Verified Sponsoring PT Roles
Searching broadly wastes time when your authorization window is narrow. Use Migrate Mate to filter Physical Therapist openings specifically at Memorial Hermann Health System so you're only engaging with roles tied to confirmed sponsorship history.
Understand How TN Status Works for Physical Therapists
Canadian and Mexican PT professionals can enter under TN status, which covers physical therapists as a listed profession. TN is employer-specific and DOL-documented, so if Memorial Hermann extends an offer, request that they initiate the TN support letter before you give notice at your current employer.

Find Physical Therapist at Memorial Hermann Health System JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Memorial Hermann Health System sponsor H-1B visas for Physical Therapists?
Yes, Memorial Hermann Health System has a history of sponsoring H-1B visas for Physical Therapist roles. The health system operates across a large hospital and outpatient network in Texas, which creates ongoing demand for licensed PTs. Sponsorship decisions are typically made at the facility or HR level, so confirm visa support directly with the recruiter once you reach the offer stage.
How do I apply for Physical Therapist jobs at Memorial Hermann Health System?
You can browse and apply for Physical Therapist openings through Memorial Hermann's careers portal, or use Migrate Mate to filter roles specifically tied to visa sponsorship history at Memorial Hermann. When applying, highlight your Texas PT license status, any specialty certifications, and your current work authorization type so recruiters can assess fit quickly.
Which visa types are commonly used for Physical Therapist roles at Memorial Hermann Health System?
Memorial Hermann has sponsored H-1B visas and has hired Physical Therapists on F-1 OPT and CPT. Canadian and Mexican nationals who hold a physical therapy degree and a valid license can also qualify under TN status, which is employer-specific and does not require USCIS petition approval. The right visa type depends on your nationality, degree, and current status.
What qualifications does Memorial Hermann Health System expect for Physical Therapist roles?
Memorial Hermann expects candidates to hold a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and an active Texas PT license, or to be actively in the licensure process. For internationally trained PTs, a credentials evaluation from FCCPT is typically required before licensure. Specialty certifications in orthopedics, neurology, or sports rehabilitation can strengthen applications for specific clinic settings.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process take for Physical Therapist positions at Memorial Hermann?
The full timeline from application to first day of work typically spans two to four months, depending on your current visa status and where you are in the licensure process. H-1B petitions filed during the April cap season take longer than TN or OPT-based starts. Confirming your Texas PT license and FCCPT evaluation in advance removes the two most common delays in the process.
