Get your credentials evaluated before applying
If you completed your physical therapy degree outside the United States, have your transcripts evaluated by a FCCPT-approved evaluator before submitting applications. Banner Health's credentialing team will verify foreign degree equivalency as part of onboarding, and gaps here delay offers.
Target Banner's outpatient rehab openings strategically
Banner Health posts Physical Therapist roles across both acute care hospitals and outpatient rehabilitation centers. Outpatient positions often have longer lead times before a start date, which gives your employer more runway to file an H-1B petition or begin PERM labor certification.
Confirm state licensure before your interview
Banner Health operates primarily in Arizona, Colorado, and Wyoming. Each state has separate PT licensure requirements, and you'll need an active license in the relevant state before Banner can extend a formal offer. Start the licensing application process well before your interview stage.
Ask HR directly about EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship
Banner Health sponsors both H-1B and employment-based Green Cards for Physical Therapists. During offer negotiations, ask their HR or immigration team whether PERM labor certification is part of the package, since the DOL PERM process can take a year or more to complete.
Use Migrate Mate to find Banner Health PT openings
Banner Health's Physical Therapist postings are spread across multiple locations and updated frequently. Search Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Banner Health roles that include visa sponsorship, so you're applying to positions already confirmed for international candidates rather than guessing.
Time your H-1B cap filing around Banner's hiring cycle
If you're subject to the H-1B cap, your petition must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start date. Align your Banner Health interview and offer timeline accordingly, since healthcare employers often need several weeks after an offer to prepare USCIS petition documents.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Banner Health sponsor H-1B visas for Physical Therapists?
Yes, Banner Health sponsors H-1B visas for Physical Therapist roles. The process requires your employer to file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting the H-1B petition to USCIS. Banner's HR and legal teams handle this process, but you'll need to ensure your PT license and credential evaluations are complete before they can file.
How do I apply for Physical Therapist jobs at Banner Health?
Applications go through Banner Health's careers portal, where PT roles are listed by location and specialty. You can also browse Banner Health Physical Therapist openings filtered for visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to identify positions actively open to international candidates. Have your resume, license information, and credential evaluation ready before submitting.
Which visa types does Banner Health commonly use for Physical Therapist roles?
Banner Health sponsors both H-1B nonimmigrant visas and employment-based immigrant visas, specifically EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, for Physical Therapist positions. EB-3 is the most common pathway for PT roles since the occupation typically requires a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, which satisfies the professional worker classification under the EB-3 category.
What qualifications does Banner Health expect for Physical Therapist candidates?
Banner Health requires a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from an accredited program and an active physical therapy license in the state where the role is located. For international candidates, a FCCPT credential evaluation confirming degree equivalency is standard. Clinical experience in acute care, outpatient orthopedics, or rehabilitation settings strengthens your application significantly.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Banner Health PT role?
Timeline depends on the visa pathway. An H-1B filing for a cap-subject candidate takes several months, with an October 1 start date being the earliest possible. A Green Card through PERM labor certification adds one to three years before you receive immigrant visa status, depending on your country of birth and USCIS processing volumes. Starting conversations with Banner HR about sponsorship early in the hiring process helps align timelines.
