Get your credentials verified before applying
Physical Therapist roles require state licensure, and many states won't process your application without a foreign credential evaluation. Complete your FCCPT or CGFNS evaluation early so Jobot's recruiters can confirm your eligibility before initiating any sponsorship conversation.
Ask recruiters which placement type applies
Jobot operates as a staffing agency, so some placements are contract roles while others are direct hire. Sponsorship structures differ between the two. Clarify upfront whether the position allows H-1B transfer or requires a new cap-subject filing.
Flag your visa type in your initial outreach
Jobot recruits for Physical Therapists across multiple visa categories including H-1B, F-1 OPT, and TN. Specifying your current status in your first message to a recruiter helps them route you to placements the end client has pre-approved for sponsorship.
Understand TN eligibility if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
Physical Therapy qualifies as a TN profession under the USMCA, making it a faster alternative to H-1B for eligible candidates. Confirm with DOL guidelines that your degree and licensure align with TN requirements before requesting this pathway from Jobot.
Track OPT expiration against Jobot's placement timelines
Staffing placements can take weeks to move from offer to start date. If you're on F-1 OPT, map your authorization end date against the 60-day grace period so you and Jobot's team can time the H-1B petition filing without a gap in work authorization.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Physical Therapist roles by sponsorship type
Not every Jobot listing specifies which visa categories the end client accepts. Use Migrate Mate to surface Physical Therapist openings at Jobot filtered by the sponsorship type you need, so you're only applying to roles where the pathway already exists.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Jobot sponsor H-1B visas for Physical Therapists?
Yes, Jobot has sponsored H-1B visas for Physical Therapist roles. Because Jobot operates as a staffing and recruiting firm, sponsorship eligibility often depends on the end client rather than Jobot alone. When applying, confirm with the recruiter whether the specific placement is approved for H-1B sponsorship, and ask whether a cap-exempt or cap-subject filing applies to your situation.
How do I apply for Physical Therapist jobs at Jobot?
You can apply directly through Jobot's website or find their Physical Therapist listings filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate. When reaching out to a Jobot recruiter, lead with your current visa status and licensure details. Jobot's model is relationship-driven, so a direct message to a recruiter often moves faster than a cold application through a job board.
Which visa types does Jobot commonly use for Physical Therapist roles?
Jobot has placed Physical Therapists using H-1B, F-1 OPT, and TN visas. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican citizens and is particularly practical for Physical Therapists since the occupation is explicitly listed under USMCA. F-1 OPT candidates can start work immediately if authorization is in place, while H-1B sponsorship typically involves a longer filing and processing timeline.
What qualifications does Jobot expect for Physical Therapist candidates seeking sponsorship?
Jobot's Physical Therapist placements generally require a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, active state licensure in the state where the role is located, and clinical experience in the relevant setting. For sponsored roles, you'll also need a foreign credential evaluation if your degree was earned outside the United States. Some end clients require specialty certifications such as OCS or SCS depending on the practice area.
How long does the sponsorship process take for Physical Therapist roles at Jobot?
Timeline depends heavily on visa type. TN sponsorship can be processed within days for eligible candidates. F-1 OPT authorization should already be in place before you accept an offer. H-1B sponsorship, if it requires a new cap-subject filing, follows USCIS's annual lottery cycle in April, with employment typically starting October 1. Premium processing through USCIS is available and reduces adjudication time to 15 business days once filed.
