Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Clinical Nurse Jobs at Indiana University Health Jobs
Verify Your NCLEX and Indiana Licensure First
Before applying, confirm your Indiana RN license is active or in process. IU Health's hiring managers screen for state licensure early, and a pending NCLEX result can stall an offer before visa sponsorship discussions even begin.
Target Units with Persistent Openings
IU Health consistently posts Clinical Nurse roles across med-surg, ICU, and emergency departments. Focusing your applications on high-turnover units increases your chances of reaching a hiring manager actively willing to initiate the sponsorship process.
Browse Open Roles Through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter IU Health's Clinical Nurse listings by visa type so you're only applying to roles where sponsorship is confirmed, not assumed. This saves time and targets your effort at openings most relevant to your immigration situation.
Ask Recruiting About Their PERM Timeline Early
For Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3, the PERM labor certification process filed with DOL can take one to two years or more. Raise the question of long-term sponsorship intent during your recruiter conversation, not after you receive an offer.

Find Clinical Nurse at Indiana University Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Indiana University Health sponsor H-1B visas for Clinical Nurses?
Yes, Indiana University Health sponsors H-1B visas for Clinical Nurses. As a large hospital network, IU Health qualifies as an H-1B employer and has an established process for petitioning USCIS on behalf of nursing staff. Because H-1B cap-subject petitions are subject to the annual lottery, timing your offer and filing around the April lottery window is essential for cap-subject applicants.
How do I apply for Clinical Nurse jobs at Indiana University Health?
Apply directly through IU Health's careers portal, where Clinical Nurse roles are posted by campus and specialty. Migrate Mate also lists IU Health's open Clinical Nurse positions filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility, which makes it easier to identify the right roles before applying. Have your Indiana RN license and nursing credentials ready to attach during the application process.
Which visa types does Indiana University Health commonly use for Clinical Nurse sponsorship?
IU Health sponsors several visa types for Clinical Nurses, including H-1B, TN (for Canadian and Mexican citizens), F-1 OPT and CPT for nursing graduates in their practical training period, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. The right visa depends on your citizenship, educational background, and how long you plan to stay in the U.S.
What qualifications does Indiana University Health expect for sponsored Clinical Nurse roles?
IU Health expects candidates to hold an Associate Degree in Nursing at minimum, though a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred for most sponsored positions. An active Indiana RN license is required before your start date. Specialty certifications such as BLS, ACLS, or unit-specific credentials strengthen your application, particularly for ICU, emergency, and critical care roles where competition is higher.
How do I plan my timeline for visa sponsorship at Indiana University Health?
Timeline planning depends heavily on your visa type. H-1B petitions must be filed by April for an October 1 start date, so you need an offer in hand by March at the latest. TN visas can be processed faster, sometimes at the border on the day of travel. For EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, expect the PERM process with DOL to take well over a year before USCIS adjudication begins.
