Align your credentials to healthcare support standards
Customer Support roles at Indiana University Health often require HIPAA familiarity and experience with electronic health record systems like Epic. Document any patient-facing or healthcare administrative experience before applying, as these credentials strengthen both your application and your visa petition.
Target roles specifying employer-sponsored work authorization
Indiana University Health's Customer Support postings sometimes distinguish between roles open to sponsored candidates and those requiring immediate authorization. Filter your search by sponsorship eligibility and read job descriptions for phrases like 'will sponsor' or 'visa transfer accepted' before investing time in the application.
Understand how TN status works for support roles
Canadian and Mexican nationals can pursue TN status for qualifying Customer Support positions if the role maps to an eligible TN occupation category. Confirm the job description supports a valid TN classification before accepting an offer, since misclassified roles can trigger a denial at the port of entry.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open sponsorship-eligible positions
Customer Support openings at large health systems fill quickly and sponsorship-eligible postings are not always labeled clearly. Search Indiana University Health's active roles on Migrate Mate to filter specifically for positions open to international candidates before applying through the company's own portal.
Track your OPT or STEM OPT window against hiring timelines
Indiana University Health's HR hiring process for non-clinical roles typically runs several weeks from application to offer. If you're on F-1 OPT with fewer than 90 days remaining, flag your timeline to the recruiter early so they can assess whether an H-1B cap-exempt transfer or expedited process applies.
Confirm the employer's PERM labor certification capacity upfront
If you're aiming for long-term permanent residence through an EB-2 or EB-3 pathway, ask the hiring manager or HR contact whether Indiana University Health supports PERM filings for Customer Support roles, since not all non-clinical positions are pre-approved for green card sponsorship at offer stage.

Find Customer Support at Indiana University Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Indiana University Health sponsor H-1B visas for Customer Supports?
Yes, Indiana University Health sponsors H-1B visas for eligible Customer Support roles. Because the health system operates as a large non-profit employer, it files petitions on behalf of qualifying candidates. Your role must meet the H-1B specialty occupation standard, so roles requiring a relevant bachelor's degree or higher are the strongest candidates for petition approval by USCIS.
How do I apply for Customer Support jobs at Indiana University Health?
Applications go through Indiana University Health's careers portal at iuhealth.org/careers. Search by department or role type and read each posting for work authorization language before applying. To find sponsorship-eligible Customer Support positions specifically, Migrate Mate lets you filter Indiana University Health openings by visa type so you can focus only on roles open to international candidates.
Which visa types does Indiana University Health commonly use for Customer Support roles?
Indiana University Health sponsors H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Customer Support positions, and supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employment. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupational categories. F-1 CPT and OPT are common entry points for recent graduates before transitioning to an employer-sponsored status.
What qualifications does Indiana University Health expect for Customer Support roles?
Most Customer Support positions at Indiana University Health expect experience with patient communication, healthcare scheduling, or insurance verification, along with familiarity with electronic health record platforms such as Epic. Roles tied to H-1B sponsorship typically require at least a bachelor's degree in a related field to satisfy USCIS specialty occupation requirements. Bilingual candidates with Spanish or other language fluency are frequently preferred.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Customer Support offer?
Once you have a signed offer, your employer files the Labor Condition Application with the DOL, which typically takes seven business days under standard processing. USCIS then adjudicates the H-1B petition, with regular processing taking three to six months and premium processing available for a faster decision. Build this timeline into your start date conversation with the recruiter at the offer stage.
