Obtain State Certification Before Applying
Washington State requires Clinical Assistants to hold a valid medical assistant certification from an accredited body like AAMA or AMT. Securing this before you apply removes a common credentialing bottleneck that can delay MultiCare's sponsorship timeline.
Target MultiCare's High-Volume Hiring Locations
MultiCare operates across Tacoma, Spokane, and the Puget Sound region, with clinical assistant openings concentrated in its larger hospital campuses. Focusing your applications on these sites increases your exposure to hiring managers with established sponsorship workflows.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Open Roles
Clinical Assistant positions at MultiCare fill quickly across its regional network. Use Migrate Mate to filter and track open roles that explicitly support visa sponsorship, so you can prioritize applications before postings close.
Clarify Visa Category Early in Interviews
MultiCare sponsors across several visa categories including H-1B, TN, and J-1. During the offer stage, ask HR directly which pathway fits your status. TN can move significantly faster than H-1B for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying clinical roles.
Align Your OPT Start Date with Hiring Cycles
MultiCare recruits Clinical Assistants on a rolling basis, but onboarding timelines for clinical roles run longer than typical office positions due to background checks and credentialing. File your OPT application with USCIS at least 90 days before your program end date to preserve full work authorization coverage.
Document Clinical Hours for PERM Labor Certification
If MultiCare pursues a Green Card through PERM for your role, DOL requires documented proof of qualifying clinical experience. Keep detailed records of your hours, supervisors, and patient care responsibilities from every position you've held.

Find Clinical Assistant at MultiCare Health System JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does MultiCare Health System sponsor H-1B visas for Clinical Assistants?
Yes, MultiCare Health System sponsors H-1B visas for Clinical Assistant roles. As a large regional health system, MultiCare has established relationships with immigration counsel and processes sponsorship across its facilities. Because the H-1B is subject to an annual cap and lottery, your application timing relative to the April filing window matters significantly to your overall sponsorship timeline.
How do I apply for Clinical Assistant jobs at MultiCare Health System?
Applications go through MultiCare's careers portal, where you can filter by role and location. You'll typically complete an online application, upload your resume and certifications, and indicate your work authorization status. Migrate Mate aggregates MultiCare's Clinical Assistant openings filtered for visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to find and track relevant postings in one place.
Which visa types does MultiCare Health System commonly use for Clinical Assistant roles?
MultiCare sponsors Clinical Assistants across H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. For recent graduates, OPT and CPT are the most common entry points. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying clinical occupations and generally processes faster than H-1B without a lottery.
What qualifications does MultiCare Health System expect for Clinical Assistant positions?
MultiCare typically requires a medical assistant diploma or associate's degree from an accredited program, along with certification from AAMA, AMT, or an equivalent credentialing body. Washington State does not license medical assistants under a state board, but certification is a firm practical requirement at most MultiCare facilities. Prior clinical experience in a patient-facing role strengthens your candidacy considerably.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process take for Clinical Assistants at MultiCare?
From application to start date, expect eight to sixteen weeks once an offer is extended, accounting for credentialing, background screening, and visa paperwork. H-1B petitions filed in the April cap season add several months to that window. TN and OPT-based authorizations can move faster, sometimes within four to six weeks of an offer, depending on your current status and documentation readiness.
