Certify Your Clinical Credentials Before Applying
Trinity Health expects Clinical Assistants to hold active certifications like CNA or MA before an offer is extended. Verify your credentials are recognized in the specific state where the role is posted, since licensure requirements vary by state and affect sponsorship eligibility.
Target Roles in High-Need Service Lines
Trinity Health's highest Clinical Assistant hiring volume tends to cluster in primary care, urgent care, and long-term care facilities. Applying to roles in these areas puts you in front of hiring managers who are already familiar with sponsoring international candidates for this job function.
Search Open Clinical Assistant Roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Trinity Health's Clinical Assistant openings by visa type and location. This lets you quickly identify which postings are actively open to sponsored candidates so you're not applying blindly to roles that won't move forward.
Clarify Your OPT or CPT Timeline in the Interview
If you're on F-1 OPT, Trinity Health's HR team will need to confirm your employment authorization end date early to determine whether a cap-subject H-1B petition or a timely OPT extension covers your start date. Raise this proactively rather than waiting for the offer stage.
Understand How PERM Affects Healthcare Sponsorship Timelines
For EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways, Trinity Health must conduct a PERM labor market test through DOL before filing an immigrant petition. For clinical roles, this process typically takes several months and must demonstrate no available U.S. workers qualify for the position.
Confirm Work Authorization Through E-Verify at Onboarding
Trinity Health participates in E-Verify, meaning your work authorization is confirmed electronically at the start of employment. If there's a mismatch between your visa documents and E-Verify records, resolve it with USCIS before your start date to avoid delays in your first week.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Trinity Health sponsor H-1B visas for Clinical Assistants?
Yes, Trinity Health sponsors H-1B visas for Clinical Assistant roles, though sponsorship decisions are made at the facility and position level rather than system-wide. Because Clinical Assistant positions are classified as specialty occupations requiring a relevant degree, your educational background needs to meet that standard. Connecting with the hiring team early about your visa situation improves your chances of a smooth process.
How do I apply for Clinical Assistant jobs at Trinity Health?
Apply through Trinity Health's careers portal and indicate your need for sponsorship in your application where prompted. You can also use Migrate Mate to browse Trinity Health's Clinical Assistant openings filtered by sponsorship type, which helps you focus on roles already aligned with your visa situation before investing time in an application.
Which visa types does Trinity Health commonly use for Clinical Assistant roles?
Trinity Health sponsors multiple visa categories for Clinical Assistants, including H-1B for specialty occupation roles, F-1 OPT and CPT for students completing clinical training, TN visa for qualified Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible healthcare occupations, and J-1 visa for candidates in approved exchange programs. Immigrant pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 are also available for candidates pursuing permanent residence.
What qualifications does Trinity Health expect for Clinical Assistant roles?
Trinity Health typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent at minimum, with preference for candidates holding a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) credential. Some positions in specialty care settings expect prior clinical experience. For sponsored roles, your degree or certification needs to align with the state's licensure requirements in the location where the position is posted.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship for a Trinity Health role?
The H-1B cap-subject lottery opens in March each year for an October 1 start date. If you're on F-1 OPT, coordinate your offer timing so your OPT authorization covers the gap between your start date and October 1. Trinity Health's HR team handles the USCIS petition filing after an offer is extended, but you'll want to align your application timeline well in advance of the March registration window.
