INTRODUCTION
The Director of the Talent Hub is a 12-month position beginning July 1, 2026. The position provides strategic vision, faculty leadership, and academic oversight for Cleveland State University’s (CSU) university-wide work-based learning (WBL) initiative, serving as the senior faculty leader with the CSU Talent Hub. Leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of academically rigorous work-integrated learning (WIL) pathways across all undergraduate programs, ensuring every CSU student has the opportunity to complete a degree with a structured experiential learning component aligned with the university’s mission and Northeast Ohio’s regional workforce needs. Partners with the Executive Director of the Talent Hub, academic deans, and faculty governance to embed WBL into curricula, incorporate employer and community partnerships in curriculum, and advance a culture of experiential education across CSU’s colleges. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

Provides strategic direction and faculty leadership for CSU’s university-wide work-based learning portfolio, setting a coherent academic vision for WBL pathways that span internships, co-ops, clinical placements, service learning, and other applied learning experiences across all undergraduate programs.
Percentage of time: 25% -
Leads the design, development, and ongoing improvement of work-integrated learning pathways in partnership with academic deans, department chairs, and college-level faculty, ensuring each pathway is academically rigorous, equitably accessible, and aligned with curricular learning outcomes.
Percentage of time: 25% -
Serves as the primary faculty liaison to the Talent Hub Executive Director, steering committees, and advisory boards, providing academic expertise and faculty perspective on program design, employer partnerships, compliance, and institutional governance.
Percentage of time: 15% -
Works within leaders of partnerships with employers, workforce agencies, nonprofit organizations, and regional industry partners to expand the quality and diversity of WBL placements available to CSU students across all academic programs and disciplines.
Percentage of time: 15% -
Collaborates with Academic Affairs, the Office of Instructional Excellence, academic advising, student success units, and the Office of the Registrar to integrate WBL into degree pathways, advising frameworks, and graduation requirements.
Percentage of time: 10% -
Supports the assessment and evaluation of WBL programs by developing shared learning outcomes, data collection strategies, and reporting frameworks, and uses findings to drive continuous improvement and communicate program impact to university leadership.

Supports faculty professional development on experiential learning pedagogy, WBL course design, risk management, and employer engagement practices, in partnership with the Office of Instructional Excellence.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Full time faculty member at CSU
Minimum three (3) years of experience in curriculum development, faculty governance, and undergraduate teaching at the college or university level.
Experience designing, supervising, or assessing experiential or work-integrated learning activities, such as internships, co-ops, clinical placements, service learning, or applied research.
Record of successful collaboration across academic departments, colleges, or with external community and employer partners.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Doctoral degree
5 or more years of experience in curriculum development, faculty governance, and undergraduate teaching at the college or university level
Experience leading university-wide or cross-college curricular initiatives, program development, or academic reform efforts.
Experience working with employer partnership programs, industry advisory boards, or workforce development collaborations.
Knowledge of national models for work-integrated learning, including co-operative education, earn-and-learn, and competency-based experiential programs.
Experience with program assessment, accreditation evidence preparation, institutional effectiveness reporting, or related work.
* Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems or technology platforms used to manage experiential learning placements and outcomes data.
