Target operations and logistics roles first
CMA CGM's core business in container shipping and freight management means operational, supply chain, and logistics roles are where the most hiring activity happens. These departments align directly with the company's H-1B sponsorship history.
Understand the shipping industry's degree expectations
Transportation and logistics roles at companies like CMA CGM often require specialized degrees in supply chain, maritime, business, or engineering. Confirming your degree aligns with the specialty occupation standard strengthens your H-1B eligibility before applying.
Apply well before your work authorization expires
CMA CGM's H-1B sponsorship process involves internal approvals, LCA filing, and USCIS processing. Starting conversations with recruiters at least six months before your authorization runs out gives the process adequate runway.
Highlight global logistics experience prominently
As a multinational shipping company, CMA CGM values candidates with international supply chain exposure. If you've worked in freight, port operations, or cross-border trade, lead with that experience, it directly maps to the company's core business needs.
Search for verified sponsoring employers before you apply
Not every job posting makes sponsorship eligibility clear upfront. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus your applications on companies like CMA CGM with a confirmed H-1B track record.
Engage CMA CGM's U.S. regional offices directly
CMA CGM operates across major U.S. port cities including Norfolk, Los Angeles, and Houston. Regional offices often have more localized hiring needs than corporate postings suggest, reaching out directly to recruiters in those markets can surface unadvertised opportunities.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does CMA CGM sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, CMA CGM sponsors H-1B visas for qualified international professionals. The company has a consistent sponsorship track record in the transportation and logistics industry, primarily for roles that meet the H-1B specialty occupation standard. If you hold a relevant degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or a related field, CMA CGM is a legitimate sponsorship target worth pursuing.
Which roles at CMA CGM are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at CMA CGM tends to concentrate in roles requiring specialized knowledge, think supply chain analysts, freight operations managers, trade finance professionals, and IT or data roles supporting logistics infrastructure. Positions that clearly require a specific bachelor's degree or higher are the strongest candidates for H-1B sponsorship, as they meet the specialty occupation requirement USCIS looks for.
What is the typical visa sponsorship process timeline at CMA CGM?
After receiving a job offer, CMA CGM's legal or HR team will initiate the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor, which typically takes one to two weeks when certified. USCIS then processes the H-1B petition, with standard processing taking several months. If you need faster turnaround, premium processing is available for an additional fee and reduces the USCIS decision window to around 15 business days.
How do I find current H-1B sponsored jobs at CMA CGM?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find CMA CGM roles where visa sponsorship is confirmed rather than assumed. The platform filters jobs by verified sponsorship history, so you're not wasting applications on listings that won't support an H-1B. Search by company name or filter within the transportation and logistics sector to see what CMA CGM currently has open.
Does CMA CGM sponsor Green Cards or other visa types beyond H-1B?
CMA CGM's documented sponsorship activity is centered on the H-1B visa. There is no significant track record of Green Card sponsorship or other visa categories such as E-3 visa in the available filing data. If permanent residency is a longer-term goal, it's worth discussing green card pathways, typically EB-2 or EB-3 through PERM labor certification, directly with CMA CGM's HR team after establishing yourself in an H-1B role.
