Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
H-1B approval for a COO role requires USCIS to recognize it as a specialty occupation. Prepare documentation showing your degree directly supports the operational, regulatory, or scientific functions CooperSurgical's COO oversees, not just general management.
Target CooperSurgical's PERM-eligible seniority window
Companies sponsoring EB-2 or EB-3 through PERM typically do so once internal promotion paths are exhausted. Position yourself as an external hire filling a gap in CooperSurgical's medical device operations leadership, which strengthens the labor market test DOL requires.
Research CooperSurgical's portfolio before outreach
CooperSurgical spans fertility, gynecology, and genomic health. COO candidates who can speak to operational integration across these verticals, including post-acquisition scale challenges common in biotech, stand out in initial conversations with their talent team.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active COO openings
COO postings at companies with sponsorship history move quickly at the senior level. Search CooperSurgical's active roles on Migrate Mate to identify current openings filtered for visa sponsorship before applying through general job boards.
Clarify sponsorship intent before the offer stage
At the COO level, compensation negotiations can complicate or delay H-1B LCA wage determinations. Confirm CooperSurgical's willingness to sponsor and their preferred visa pathway before you reach the offer letter, not after, to avoid timeline friction.
Build a paper trail of operational impact metrics
For EB-2 national interest waiver eligibility or premium EB-1C petitions, USCIS weighs demonstrated contributions to your industry. Quantified outcomes from supply chain transformations, clinical operations builds, or regulatory compliance programs in biotech or medical devices strengthen your petition significantly.

Find COO at CooperSurgical JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CooperSurgical sponsor H-1B visas for COOs?
Yes, CooperSurgical sponsors H-1B visas for senior roles including COO positions. Because H-1B approval requires USCIS to classify the role as a specialty occupation, your application should clearly document how your specific degree field connects to the operational, regulatory, or scientific demands of the position, not just the seniority of the title.
How do I apply for COO jobs at CooperSurgical?
Applications go through CooperSurgical's careers portal, but roles at this seniority level often fill through targeted outreach before a posting goes wide. Migrate Mate surfaces active COO openings at CooperSurgical filtered for visa sponsorship, which makes it easier to time your application and reach out directly to the right contacts.
Which visa types are commonly used for COO roles at CooperSurgical?
H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant pathway for COO-level hires in biotechnology and medical devices. For permanent residence, CooperSurgical has used both EB-2 and EB-3 classifications depending on the role requirements. Candidates with exceptional records in operations leadership may also explore EB-1C sponsorship once they are on payroll in a qualifying managerial capacity.
What qualifications does CooperSurgical expect for a COO role?
CooperSurgical COO candidates are typically expected to bring senior operations leadership experience within medical devices, biotechnology, or adjacent regulated industries. Familiarity with FDA-regulated manufacturing environments, post-acquisition integration, and global supply chain management is particularly relevant given CooperSurgical's multi-division structure across fertility and gynecological health.
How do I plan my timeline around H-1B sponsorship for a COO position?
Standard H-1B processing takes three to five months after USCIS receives the petition, with premium processing available to reduce that to 15 business days. COO hires at CooperSurgical typically involve longer negotiation cycles, so beginning the Labor Condition Application process with DOL as early as an offer is extended helps avoid delays between accepting the role and your authorized start date.
