Align your stack to Deloitte's platforms
Deloitte's Platform Engineer roles frequently center on Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform within client delivery contexts. Certifications in these specific platforms strengthen your case during technical screening and signal you can contribute immediately on billable engagements.
Differentiate consulting delivery from in-house engineering
Platform Engineers at Deloitte work across multiple client environments, not a single internal stack. Frame your resume around cross-environment deployments and stakeholder-facing delivery, not just internal tooling ownership, to match how the firm actually structures this work.
Clarify your visa category before the offer stage
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, E-3, and H-1B1 visas for this role. Knowing which category fits your nationality before negotiations prevents delays, since each has different Labor Condition Application timelines the employer must complete with DOL before your start date.
Target practice areas with active cloud delivery demand
Deloitte's Government and Public Services and its Technology, Media and Telecom practice areas regularly post Platform Engineer openings tied to large-scale infrastructure programs. Applications routed to these practices are more likely to enter pipelines where sponsorship is already anticipated.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Platform Engineer roles
Searching broadly across Deloitte's careers site makes it hard to isolate sponsorship-eligible openings. Migrate Mate lets you filter Platform Engineer roles at Deloitte by visa type so you apply only to positions where your sponsorship category is already in scope.
Account for USCIS processing in your start date conversation
If you need an H-1B transfer or new petition, standard USCIS processing runs several months. Raise this with the recruiter before accepting an offer so your target start date is realistic and the firm files with enough lead time to avoid gaps in your authorization.

Find Platform Engineer at Deloitte JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Platform Engineers?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Platform Engineer roles. The firm files both new cap-subject petitions and transfers for candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer. Sponsorship is generally handled through Deloitte's internal immigration team, which coordinates the Labor Condition Application with DOL and the I-129 petition with USCIS on your behalf.
Which visa types does Deloitte commonly use for Platform Engineer roles?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for Platform Engineers, as well as employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term candidates. Australian citizens are eligible for the E-3, which has no lottery and a faster timeline. H-1B1 is available to Chilean and Singaporean nationals. Which category applies depends entirely on your nationality and current status.
How do I apply for Platform Engineer jobs at Deloitte?
Applications go through Deloitte's careers portal, where roles are listed by practice area and location. To find openings where visa sponsorship is already part of the conversation, use Migrate Mate to filter Platform Engineer positions at Deloitte by visa type before applying. Tailoring your application to the specific practice area and cloud platform mentioned in the job description significantly improves your chances of moving forward.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for Platform Engineer candidates?
Most Platform Engineer roles at Deloitte require a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a closely related field, which also satisfies the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B sponsorship. Beyond the degree, Deloitte expects hands-on experience with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS, infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, and container orchestration using Kubernetes. Relevant certifications carry weight in technical screening.
How do I plan my timeline if Deloitte offers to sponsor my visa?
Timeline depends on your visa category and current status. E-3 and H-1B1 petitions can move relatively quickly once your Labor Condition Application is certified by DOL, typically within seven business days for standard processing. H-1B transfers can begin on the receipt notice date. If you're subject to the annual H-1B cap, your earliest possible start date is October 1 of the fiscal year you're selected in the lottery, so plan for a potential gap between offer and start.
