Frame Your HR Credentials for Consulting
Deloitte's HR Consultant roles sit within advisory practices, not internal HR. Tailor your resume to show client-facing project work, workforce transformation, or HR technology implementations rather than administrative HR functions.
Target Deloitte's Talent Transformation Practice
Deloitte groups most HR Consultant hiring under its Human Capital and Talent Transformation service lines. Applying through those practice areas directly, rather than a generic search, puts your application in front of teams that regularly sponsor international candidates.
Secure Credential Evaluation Before Interviewing
If your degree is from outside the United States, get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before offer stage. Deloitte's immigration team will need it to support your H-1B or E-3 petition, and having it ready signals preparedness.
Clarify Sponsorship Eligibility During Offer Negotiation
Ask directly during offer discussions which visa category Deloitte intends to use for your role. For HR Consultants, the answer is often H-1B, H-1B1 visa, or E-3 depending on your nationality, and the timeline implications differ significantly between them.
Understand How PERM Affects Your Long-Term Path
Deloitte sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for eligible employees, which requires PERM labor certification through DOL. For HR Consultants from high-backlog countries, starting that process early through internal sponsorship conversations matters more than most candidates realize.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for HR Consultants?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for HR Consultants. The firm has a dedicated immigration team that manages petitions for eligible roles within its advisory and Human Capital practices. Because H-1B cap-subject filings are subject to an annual lottery each April, your start date will depend on when sponsorship is initiated and whether you already hold H-1B status from a prior employer.
How do I apply for HR Consultant jobs at Deloitte?
Applications go through Deloitte's careers site, where you can filter by service line and location. For the best fit, look under the Human Capital or Talent Transformation practice areas rather than searching broadly. You can also browse HR Consultant openings at Deloitte filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to identify roles that align with your immigration status.
Which visa types does Deloitte commonly use for HR Consultant roles?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, and E-3 visas for HR Consultants, depending on the candidate's nationality. Australian citizens are eligible for the E-3, which has no lottery and can be processed faster than the H-1B. H-1B1 is available to Singaporean and Chilean nationals. For permanent residence, Deloitte also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for eligible employees in consulting roles.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for HR Consultant roles?
Most HR Consultant positions at Deloitte require a bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational psychology, business, or a related field, along with demonstrated experience in HR advisory, workforce transformation, or HR technology such as Workday or SAP SuccessFactors. Consulting firms generally expect client-facing experience, so a background in project delivery or change management strengthens an application significantly more than generalist HR operations experience.
How long does Deloitte's visa sponsorship process take for HR Consultants?
Timeline depends on the visa type. E-3 and H-1B1 visa applications are consular-processed and typically resolved within a few weeks of filing, assuming no administrative processing delays. H-1B cap-subject petitions follow USCIS's annual April lottery cycle, meaning an October 1 start date is standard for new cap-subject cases. Premium processing through USCIS can reduce adjudication time to 15 business days for H-1B petitions already past the lottery stage.
