Align your credentials to CAMPEP standards
Dignity Health's physics roles typically sit within radiation oncology and diagnostic imaging departments, where CAMPEP-accredited residency training is a common baseline expectation. Confirm your credentials map to U.S. clinical physics norms before applying.
Target postings that list ABR eligibility
Roles specifying American Board of Radiology eligibility signal a direct hire track, not a research path. These positions are where Dignity Health is most likely to initiate H-1B sponsorship, because the specialty occupation requirement is straightforward to document.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Physics openings by sponsorship
Dignity Health posts Physics roles across multiple states, and not every opening leads to sponsorship. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for visa-sponsoring Physics positions at Dignity Health so you're only spending time on roles that can actually move your application forward.
Prepare your LCA documentation before the offer stage
Dignity Health must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your H-1B petition goes to USCIS. Understanding the prevailing wage determination for your specific site and job title helps you negotiate accurately and avoids surprises during the offer process.
Request your start date around the cap filing window
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS opens registration in March for an October 1 start. When negotiating your offer, build this timeline in so your employer's legal team can prepare the petition without rushing the process.
Document clinical physics duties in granular detail
USCIS scrutinizes whether a physics role qualifies as a specialty occupation. Work with your hiring manager to ensure the job description specifically outlines duties requiring a graduate-level physics degree, not just general technical responsibilities that a broader science background could cover.

Find Physics at Dignity Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Dignity Health sponsor H-1B visas for Physicists?
Yes, Dignity Health sponsors H-1B visas for Physics roles, particularly in medical physics and radiation oncology. Sponsorship is initiated by the employer after a conditional offer, so you'll need to secure the role first. Positions tied to specific clinical departments are the most consistent path to a sponsored petition.
How do I apply for Physics jobs at Dignity Health?
You can browse Physics openings directly on Dignity Health's careers site or use Migrate Mate to find roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility. Tailor your application to highlight clinical physics experience, CAMPEP credentials, and any ABR board eligibility, since these are the qualifications that move candidates forward at Dignity Health.
Which visa types does Dignity Health use for Physics roles?
Dignity Health primarily uses the H-1B visa for Physics hires, which covers specialty occupation roles requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field. For candidates on a longer-term path, the company also supports employment-based Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 categories, typically after you've established yourself in the role.
What qualifications does Dignity Health expect for Physics positions?
Most Physics roles at Dignity Health require a graduate degree in medical physics or a closely related field, with CAMPEP-accredited residency training strongly preferred for clinical positions. ABR board eligibility or certification adds significant weight to your application. Hands-on experience with treatment planning systems, linac QA, or imaging physics is typically expected depending on the specific department.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Physics role at Dignity Health?
If you require a cap-subject H-1B, plan for an October 1 start date at the earliest, since USCIS registration opens in March and selection happens by lottery. From offer to petition filing typically takes six to ten weeks. Premium processing with USCIS can reduce the adjudication window to around 15 business days once the petition is submitted.
